considering how they use "technology solutions" to track their spending already (there's even a government office for it) it seems the only difference is now a political officer is being assigned to each agency.

Funny how all these people who claim they hate communism seem to mimic the old Soviet Union.

That's what it seems like. There are already experienced accountants and accounting systems up and down the federal agency chain of command, all of it conforming to GAO specifications. Those of us who have had to do the account for government grants and contracts are quite accustomed to the stringent accounting requirements that were already in place. (Or rather, my accountants were, and they complained incessantly about it.) I'm sure that something hacked together in a few weeks by "Big Balls" will be stable, scalable, reliable, and bug-free 🥺. Somehow we're "saving" money by scrapping what we already have and building something new to do the same job poorly, only apparently with hooks to let Elon Musk mouse out your budget line items without understanding what it's for or what he's doing.

Imports from China already face taxes at the border of at least 10%, after a Trump tariff order that went into effect earlier this month.

Trump also said he intended to move forward with a threatened 25% tax on imports from Canada and Mexico, which is set to come into effect on 4 March.

The US president had previously announced the 25% levies, but suspended the measures at the last moment after the countries agreed to increase border security funding and talk further on how to combat drug trafficking.

So, will the investigation involve actions taken pre-2021? Such as the deal with the taliban? The 'bounty' programs targeting US troops by both Russia and Iran?
