For the sake of accuracy - this is problematic. The excuses usually have more to do with him being clear that he condemns said actually bad people shortly after in the same conversation as the very fine people quote. The real issue at hand is that actions speak louder than words and that the very fine people quote has been seized upon because it's a bit of a flashpoint for connecting the two, even if the quote itself would be relatively innocuous in more normal circumstances and is an objectively poor thing to seize upon when the solely verbal context is considered. Considering more of the context - there was a lot more than just Nazi flags visible in the problematic parts of that - does make it far less problematic, of course, but focusing on the specific words keeps the focus on the entirely excusable words, rather than the actually problematic things.

I'd be more sympathetic to the offense taken, of course, if the right wing didn't regularly manufacture much worse. Easy example? The very statement of Biden condemning the comments of a specific Republican who said something horrible -> Biden is saying that horrible thing about all Republicans!

Last week, Trump officially went over to the dark side by aligning himself with Vladimir Putin in the Ukraine war. Trump even said Ukraine started the war, and he called Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “dictator.”
By now we all know that when Trump accuses someone of something, he’s projecting himself onto them. Trump is the one who’s becoming a dictator.

I'm pretty sure they used the same layout last year, and the similarity in symbols was also raised then, so yet another example of implausible deniability.

Then again, I can't remember which of the MAGA bastards said it, but once you have to explain why a symbol is bad (like pepe, the 'ok' hand signal, 'Let's go Brandon', etc.), you lose.

Judge Kollar-Kotelly held a hearing yesterday on one of the ongoing lawsuits against the administration. Lawyers for the administration couldn't answer simple questions like who was the head of DOGE and what Elon Musk's role in government was. That's pretty audacious on the part of people who whined about "unelected" bureaucrats.
