Trump's Second Term

Yeah, that was also my first impression of "ALL" those videos of Haitians eating cats and dogs. You couldn't tell where they were filmed either or if the folks videotaped were immigrants or even Haitian, but the maga weirdoes were swearing by them.
According to Belle of the Ranch (formerly Beau of the Fifth Column), a lot of the videos were also of people cooking/eating lambs and other small animals that were decidedly not cats or dogs.
Then again any reasonable person should know it's all blood libel anyway, so.

Didn't foresee a situation where a majority of Senators and Congressmen would eagerly give up their power to a President and the Supreme Court would just nod along.
Exactly. It presupposed a situation in which people's primary loyalties would be to their respective branches of government. It presumed that everyone would always be an Institutionalist, and that anyone who wasn't would be an individual who would be easily sequestered and rendered irrelevant.

Trump is set to sign an executive order sanctioning the International Criminal Court later today for targeting the US and allies, such as Israel, the BBC understands.

The order will see both financial and visa related sanctions applied to individuals assisting the ICC with its investigations into US citizens or allies, as well as their families.

Jesus Christ. Every day it's just more crazy from Trump. Dr. Bandy Lee, her, mental health professional co-authors, and Trump's own psychologist niece, Mary, warned us. They were right. He's just gotten worse. Every Trump thread should be a sub-thread of the "Is Trump mentally ill" thread.

Wonder if we're going to get our SocSec payments this month.
Mine's due next Wednesday. I'd like to think that if SS payments aren't made as scheduled that some significant blowback will occur and cost Trump and Co dearly, and in normal circumstances I'd be confident that it would. But these aren't normal circumstances- "normal" was the time when Trump was just lying about things like Haitians eating pets and promising to bring grocery prices down toot fini and then turning right around and admitting that that was not going to happen, and blathering about winning back the right to say Merry Christmas for people who'd never lost it. None of those things even count anymore, we've entered into a whole different dimension of crazy. Trump has calibrated his idiocies to the expectations of his devoted followers, those followers have calibrated their expectations to Trump's idiocies, and the whole thing now is just a perfect circle of low-effort stupid and nobody outside that circle matters.

Probably not coincidental that is in time for Easter, since that is when he will reveal that he is indeed the Resurrected Jesus (or more precisely, the Anti-Christ posing as the Second Coming)
That can't happen until the Temple is rebuilt so he can defile it, so nothing to worry about there...
Oh, wait a second...

Social Security and Medicare are the two hills he could end up dying on. I think his handlers are wise enough not to touch them immediately.

Let's hope. I mistakenly hit "post reply" above before I had finished what I was saying, but...let's just say I'm not as confident in the wisdom of his handlers (or their ability to handle him) as I once was.

Don't be such a wokebot. The data was from a United Nations report.
No it wasn't, it was cited by a transphobe who is also a UN official. And tge wrbdite which collates the data does mulitple fishy things, like count schools sports days as "mdeals lost" or says the same trans athlete denied multiple other athletes medals in the one event, even ones so low down the finishing order it'd take multiple disqualifications for them to win a one.
