This is one of the failings of lefty/progressive ideology. Even if the goal is to assist a supposed oppressd group, it still comes down to socioecomics. Would anyone say that Sasha or Malia Obama, being women and part Black, are oppressed? Yet, they, and those like them who share the same socioeconomic status, benefit most from the racial spoil system. Do you think Harvard or Yale seek out Black applicants from the inner-city? Of course, not. The Black applicants they accept come from wealthy and privileged Black families. And as for the poor Whites, they, too, get nothing. It's interesting that you believe that, given the demographics of your country.
Do you think that Sasha and Malia are representative of the African American population as a whole? This is one failings of lefty/progressive ideology. While about 8 percent, or about 530, of Harvard's undergraduates were black, Lani Guinier, a Harvard law professor, and Henry Louis Gates Jr., the chairman of Harvard's African and African-American studies department, pointed out that the majority of them — perhaps as many as two-thirds — were West Indian and African immigrants or their children, or to a lesser extent, children of biracial couples.
“They said that only about a third of the students were from families in which all four grandparents were born in this country, descendants of slaves. Many argue that it was students like these, disadvantaged by the legacy of Jim Crow laws, segregation and decades of racism, poverty and inferior schools, who were intended as principal beneficiaries of affirmative action in university admissions.”
I don't believe in some racist miasma that can't be seen or touched but by blind faith must be there. Yet I do appreciate that it is quite stupid to say a poor White is an oppressor and a wealthly and priviledged non-White oppressed solely due to the color of their skin.Do you think that Sasha and Malia are representative of the African American population as a whole?
There has always been a privileged class of African Americans. They are not what DEIA is concerned about. Rich people always have more opportunities than poor people. Why do you think African Americans are overrepresented in the demographics of people who are struggling at or below the poverty line? Why do you think the suicide rate is higher among transgender youth than among the general population? Why do you think people in wheelchairs have problems getting around?
Here's a hint: if you'd learned Critical Race Theory you'd know.
Did anyone here say that?I don't believe in some racist miasma that can't be seen or touched but by blind faith must be there. Yet I do appreciate that it is quite stupid to say a poor White is an oppressor and a wealthly and priviledged non-White oppressed solely due to the color of their skin.
That's what's masquerading as DEI, in the US.No, that's bull ◊◊◊◊. That's what I've been describing as SDEI.
That's what is DEI in the U.S. That's now gone from the federal government, but still going strong in universities and many corporations. That's what's masquerading as DEI, in the US.
How else would the black people and the brown people have got the job?Federal health workers are expressing fear and alarm after a website called “DEI Watch List” published the photos, names and public information of a number of workers across health agencies, describing them at one point as “targets.”
It’s unclear when the website, which lists mostly Black employees who work in agencies primarily within the Department of Health and Human Services, first appeared.
“Offenses” for the workers listed on the website include working on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, donating to Democrats and using pronouns in their bios.

If you were to start speaking ill of Elon he might be able to stop or delay your tax refund, Social Security benefit, Medicaid etc.
he has control of the Federal systems now.
His goons were spotted at FDIC recently. Yet another one of those super-unpopular federal institutions that everyone hates.Luckily none of those apply to me. I have to pay in for taxes, don't get SSN benefits or on Medicaid, but I'm sure he can find another way to ◊◊◊◊ my life up if he tried.
You mentioned critical race theory; a catechism that arrogates to itself the creditional of theory when it's just an unfalsifable political ideology. What predictions does it make? Are they replicable? Well, no. But some folks cite it as some sort of unimpeachable authority. If it is the justification for DEI, then all the better to toss DEI into the trash.Did anyone here say that?
Pretty close, it's actually:Seems to me like everyone is in violent agreement.
The left: the right person for the job is the person who's best qualified, regardless of their race, gender or sexuality, therefore we need DEI.
The right: the right person for the job is the person who's best qualified, regardless of their race, gender or sexuality, therefore we must not have DEI.
Do I have that about right?
That's why I'm giving it a different name. That's what's masquerading as DEI, in the US.
