Oh, come on. If you're gonna say that DEI is not a factor in folks getting positions, but then say that they can't get there but for DEI, then you're the hypocrite. Let's not factor in anyone's race or sex; wouldn't that be the best way to go?

You, and those who are banning DEI, are saying that non-white folks can't make it without DEI. You call it "affirmative action" and "hiring less qualified people" and that's why you're banning it.

JD Vance said during an appearance on Fox News Sunday Morning Futures, stood by Trump’s remarks linking DEI hiring practices to the crash. He said Trump was not “blaming anybody” in particular but that DEI practices had led to air traffic controller shortages.

“The president made very clear that he wasn’t blaming anybody, but he was being very explicit about the fact that DEI policies have led our air traffic controllers to be short-staffed. That is a scandal. Thankfully, it’s a scandal that the president has stopped,” Vance told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo.

Vance said it was important to “investigate everything”, adding: “But let’s just say the person at the controls didn’t have enough staffing around him or her because we were turning people away because of DEI reasons.”

“There is a very direct connection between the policies of the last administration and short-staffed air traffic controllers,” he added.

Serious question: If minorities are equally skilled and equally competent for the various roles... what purpose do active DEI policies serve? What need is there for them?

I know it makes you feel righteously justified in being rude and uncivil... but for consideration, my step-dad, five uncles, one aunt, grandma, and so many cousins I've lost track are all black or mixed, as is my sister, and their two children. I'm certainly not positive, but I would bet that my family and upbringing is magnitudes more diverse than yours.

My step-dad and their siblings and mother all think DEI policies are racist and insulting - and all of them have faced actual legitimate racism. I think those policies are sexist, and I've faced actual legitimate sexism. It's made much worse by the fact that the vast majority of people who develop and implement DEI policies and trainings are WHITE. So at the end of the day, it's a bunch of white people insisting that minorities and females aren't capable of getting ahead unless white people give them hand-outs.

MLK Jr. has got to be rolling in their grave.

I live in Denmark where we are supposed not to have such problems. I don’t know much about minorities’ opportunities (although I have a brother and a sister who are black), but women are definitely having a harder time getting selected for leadership positions. In my last job, the women were completely absent in the higher echelons, and just below that, they were only working in HR. There was a woman working as Chief Operations Manager, and was generally regarded as one of the best, but when a new CEO came, she was replaced by a man right from the start.

I think that is true that women have to have better qualifications than men to get same same jobs.

I don't really care to have a "race off" with you. We were a foster family and had to deal with the bulk of the immigration side of the process, along with several refugees. Our experiences are definitely different but we're not here to talk about our own anecdotal experiences, are we? You made some claims in there that require some supporting. Like that the "vast majority of people who develop and implement DEI policies and trainings are WHITE". I'm positive you have something to support that, right?

He probably is rolling in his grave at people who use a few relatives as spokespeople for an entire race and use it to justify overturning policy aimed at bringing equality to the workforce. I bet he is rolling in his grave but not for the reason you think he is, neat post though. Feel free to back it up whenever.

Ironically Emily's Cat is a self-proclaimed, and often stated, feminist that can't even stand the thought of women being marginalized. Somehow, though, the DEI policies are sexist to her, and not seen as protection from the literal ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ person that Trump is putting into a position of power. She bitches about the polices being written by WHITE people (despite no ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ evidence of such, just a random ass claim by a rightie) but Darren is saying that WHITE men, specifically, are the only ones that can be trusted.

Now the people getting their faces ate are cheering the leopards on, mind boggling.

Fairly straight forward really, I'm surprised you don't understand.

DEI: Best person for the job.

Non DEI: Best white man for the job.

If you're a member of the class of people that think that a white man is always the best person for any job, then you have issues.
