Split Thread Diversity Equity and Inclusion and merit in employment etc

Guy, why d you hate diversity so much?
I don't hate ediversity. I hate DEI because it is ideologically bankrupt, divisive, harmful, unfair, and illegally discriminatory as I have said a million or so times.

Thus demonstrating - again - that the righist straw "DEI" has absolutely nothing to do with diversity. Or equity or inclusion for that matter.

How the ◊◊◊◊ can actual DEI as practiced be "straw DEI." You've got it exactly backwards. It is your idea of DEI, if any, that is the straw man, namely, something that exists primarily in your own head, rather than in reality.

Actually what you're doing is what you're great at: the Motte and Bailey routine. You can't defend actual DEI, so you make up some excuse not to, and propose some other form of DEI (that certainly isn't the norm, and may not even exist in practice) and defend it instead.

That claim is made all the time, but there is little if any good data to support it. There are also contradictory studies that have found that homogenous groups to be more productive.
Just to show where this poster is coming from.
This poster is coming from an evidence-based evaluation of the data, you know, skepticism. Where are you coming from?

Nice list, but all it demonstrates are that there are a number of companies that have ended their so-called "DEI" programmes. It doesn't demonstrate that those programmes are or were bad for the companies in question.
Companies want to maximize profits. If they cut a program, they judged that they will increase their profits by doing so.

Companies respond to bullying by the techbroligarchs.

Did you see that Trump blamed the DC air crash on DEI? What do you think about that? Did DEI cause a passenger jet and a helicopter to collide in midair?

Yes, I just saw it and reported the thread, asking for all the Trump posts to be moved.

Cool. Are you going to answer the question?
It is hard to think of a stupider question than "Did DEI cause a passenger jet and a helicopter to collide in midair?" If the question had been a more intelligent one, such as, Could DEI be a factor in an aviation accident? then the answer certainly could be "yes." Since actual DEI, as practiced in the real world, includes hiring less-qualified "oppressed" individuals over more-qualified "oppressor" individuals, then, yeah, a less-qualified pilot could end up in an accident that a more-qualified pilot would have been able to avoid.

I'm sure, given the proper resources they can come to Trump's desired conclusion, and implement his solutions in short order.
The problem with that is, it likely doesn't address the actual cause, or implement the necessary solutions to see that it doesn't happen again.
But hey, as long as Trump is pleased with the results, nothing else matters.
