US Air Force removes lessons on black WWII pilots from training

There was no initial racist order
Sure, considering the clear agenda of the Racist, Rapist Felon-in Chief.

Edited by Agatha:
Edited to remove a breach of rule 0 and rule 12.

Really? That's the straw man you're going to pull?

The right is very capable of doing wrong, because everyone is capable of doing wrong. That's not the question. The question is whether they intended this specific wrong. And there's no reason to think they did, and multiple reasons to think they didn't.
Multiple reasons to think the didn't?
So far:
a) he promoted a Tuskegee man to Brig. General
b) low level bureaucrats wanted to make him look bad.

By the way, Trump doesn't need anyone to make him look bad. He does that all by his big boy self.

Which compliance? The inital racist racist order or the later cover up?
The order we know came from the top is to get rid of DEI. Malicious compliance would be interpreting this order to include getting rid of the Tuskegee training material, even though that isn't required.

Hmmmm... Maybe 50% anti-Semite. He likes the guys in yarmulkes who run his accounts. But I don't think you could drag Queen Felonious into a NYC deli.
Really? How can you not like a Pastrami Sandwich at Katz's Deli? NY delicatessen food is maybe what I miss most about living in NY.

The speed of the reversal is pretty suggestive as well. There was no waiting to see how the decision would play out, no attempts to justify or downplay the removal, only an immediate pullback. That's the sort of response one expects when the decision didn't come from the top, not when it did.

ETA: in fact, it's not even clear that the removal ever really happened in the first place. When I try to trace this story back, the first version I can find is Reuters:

But Reuters sources this to an anonymous official. I can find no official statement that this material was ever removed in the first place. What I can find from official air force sources is this:

"Allow me to clearly dispel a rumor – while we are currently reviewing all training courses to ensure compliance with the Executive Orders, no curriculum or content highlighting the honor and valor of the Tuskegee Airmen or Women Air Force Service Pilots has been removed from Basic Military Training."

So it's entirely possible that this is a tempest in a teapot that started because someone assumed that course material being reviewed meant material had been removed.

Yes, I understand your need to determine it this way, but Trump's virulent racism, and drunky, xtian nationalist's fealty to Donnie Diapers suggest otherwise. This isn't malicious compliance but rather an overweening sycophancy to stinkypants.

Yes, its extremely swift reversal suggests Trump's fear of criticism had a major had in the reversal, After all, he hasn't SLAPP-sued all media into submission. Yet.

If you fear criticism that much, then you don't do the thing you're afraid of getting criticized for in the first place. This wasn't a case where the criticism turned out to be worse than expected, because there wasn't time for that to happen.

And as I detailed above, I'm no longer certain that there even was a removal or a reversal.

Not if you're initial racism isn't expected to be criticized, Remember, this deludedm individual fantasizes he had a mandate.

So his advisers advised him to get ahead of the controversy, that's what they're for.

As I detailed above, his advisers did what they're paid for. As far your certainty, I understand your need to defend the racist, rapist felon you support; I guess it's just sunk cost.

More reporting that suggests that this material was never actually removed:

According to this version, a training module was pulled so that it could be reviewed and revised. This module included the Tuskegee material that was not removed as well as some DEI material that was removed. This revision process delayed delivery of the module to some trainees by a day, but the Tuskegee material was still delivered and was never actually cut. The delay caused some people to incorrectly assume that the entire module including the Tuskegee material had been cut when it had not.

Not if you're initial racism isn't expected to be criticized
So now your working theory is that both Trump and Hegseth are retarded? That they couldn't predict that there would be any blowback, and they caved at the first sign of it?

Tell me how that's working out for his deportation plans. Lots of criticism there, why no reversal?
As I detailed above, his advisers did what they're paid for.
Not according to your theory, because according to you they didn't even warn him ahead of time that there would be criticism. I guess his advisors are all retarded as well.

Wait, so all this outrage was just BS?

Don't get me started on things like egglant or veal parm subs; nobody ever heard of them out here. Still I wonder how many of those old delis I remember survive and how many lost their business to Blimpies (back in the day) or Subway/Jersey Mike's.

I look forward to seeing how slavery will be reinterpreted - a skills acquisition programme for immigrants from developing countries in Africa perhaps.
That's what Florida are doing, using Betty Washington and Booker T Washington as examples. The first was George Washington's sister and owned slaves, the second only picked up skills after fleeing slavery.

Who here thinks Donald Trump isn't a virulent racist? He hires racists. Trump is Hitler without the antisemitism.
Trust me, the antisemitism ie there, it's just that the American nazi party currently considers Israel a useful catspaw to get at their other enemies. Plus there's that whole tribulation thingy which says that for the apocalypse to happen Israel must be big and strong and after it's crushed by Jesus in the opening rounds, then the "good" christians get to slaughter all the jews.
