Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

Or maybe I'd have to see the unconstitutional actions before calling them such. Not everyone believes enforcing the law is a negative. Just because you don't like something doesnt mean it can't, or shouldn't be done.
The Constitution says Drumpf isn't even allowed to be President in the first place, so there's that.
Birthright citizenship is also in the Constitution, though this isn't stopping the Führer from trying to overrule the Constitution with an executive order.

Yeah, I guess it's hard to see things happening right out in the open with one's head stuck in the sand. Or maybe it's stuck someplace else.

And to be clear, the things I "don't like" here are blatantly illegal and unconstitutional actions.

Yes, but rdwright hasn't seen it yet, so therefore it doesn't count.

If every thread is going to expand to every trump topic, this will get annoying. The topic here being ice raids, that's what I am referring to. If you want to argue the constitutionality of his eo on birth right citizenship, feel free to start a thread.

You don't see how the question of citizenship is relevant to who might become victims of ICE raids? As far as I understood a recent headline, they might even be going after native Americans now.

Decision by the Ninth Circuit Concerned a Raid on a Van Nuys Factory

LOS ANGELES — In a major decision over storm trooper-style tactics by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a federal court today ruled that ICE agents violated the Constitution in their raid on a Van Nuys factory. ICE had warrants for fewer than 10 people working at Micro Solutions Enterprise, but it indiscriminately detained more than 130 people working there and forced them to undergo repeated interrogations without attorneys. It then held dozens of them without food or water for more than 18 hours.

Some politicians have already said they want the bishop who spoke at Trump's inauguration to be deported. They see this method as a way of dealing with not just illegal immigrants but anybody who gets up their sensitive noses.

rdwright: Everyone calm down about the ICE raids.

me: The ICE raids are being conducted by a lawless administration with unconstitutional immigration policies. Concern is warranted.

rdwright: Nuh-uh.

me: *proves ICE raids are being conducted by a lawless administration with unconstitutional immigration policies*

rdwright: Relevant context that I don't have the capacity to hand-wave away is off-topic.

And by the way, there's nothing to argue about the constitutionality of Trump's executive order to end birthright citizenship. It's blatantly unconstitutional on its face. The fact that you can't even admit that speaks volumes and renders your admonishments as hollow as they appear to be.

Next EO: Birthright citizenship is only valid for people who can trace their family line directly back to the passengers and crew of the Mayflower.
(Only applies to Democrats)

Getting the actual numbers is hard, but if I just use the number 3,000 (over four days) that Homan supplied last Friday, that works out to 750 deportees a day, and over the next four years, that'll total out to about 1.1 million.

That's a far cry from deporting all 11.7 million illegal immigrants.

The maga weirdoes keep giving me different numbers (from 11 million to 60 million), and I keep telling them that they should get together and get their "facts" straight, but they just ignore me. Like that's a surprise., right?

If anyone has any advice on how I can get the actual numbers of how many have been deported, I'll be glad to listen.

Trump Border Czar Admits Not All Undocumented Migrants Will Be Removed
Story by Natalie Venegas

President Donald Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, said on Sunday that not all undocumented migrants will be removed from the United States, citing costs associated with the administration's mass deportation plans.

An eo that will not be enforced unless it passes through courts? No, I don't think there is any relevance to a current event that is actually happening.

This more gets to the heart of it. "People are hearing." That is the primary source. The wording in articles leave people completely unaware of what is actually happening. Navajo Nation President told the Arizona Mirror -
Nygren told the Arizona Mirror that his office has heard the concerns coming into his office and circulating on social media about Indigenous people in urban areas potentially being detained by ICE. However, he said that his office has not been able to verify or successfully reach a Navajo person who has been detained.
That doesnt mean things arent happening. But it should cause people to pause before spreading fears to communities for talking points.

Also:
On thread but happened in 2017. Biden in 2021 did end mass worksite immigration raids like these, with the caveat that he would divert attention and resources towards going after the employers instead. The thing is, he didn't. His employer audits were far fewer than Trumps. Now I will guess they will restart. The question will be if they will stay within the bounds of the law. We will see.

Yeah, birth right citizenship is absolutely on topic.
You guys are going to have to make a decision on if this EO will ever possibly be enforced. If your answer is of course it won't, it's unconstitutional, than you can't sit behind it as if it will affect ice raids.

I mean, just Mike Collins. That is one too many though.

You can actually read my original message, it's right here on the page. Concern can be warranted. It can also scare people into doing dangerous or ill advised things when the actual threat is small or nonexistent. Ballooning the realities can have consequences so not spreading every half baked social media post you see to dunk on Trump can actually hurt people. Is that worth it to you? It seems so but maybe you don't consider those side effects to matter.

As for the EO, I don't consider it related because I don't see any way it would ever get past the courts and enforced.

Who gets to decide what's half baked and what isn't?

Who said they are going to wait to see if the courts approve. Trump's whole schtick is mass action from day one with a record number of executive orders.
