The funding agencies themselves were required to advance DEI, which meant that they gave preference in funding to minority applicants.

With the stroke of a pen, all this is over. The funding of fundamental research that has no connection to DEI will no longer be threatened, and research proposals will be funded on the basis of their scientific merit without regard to the applicant’s skin color.

This isn't the endorsement you two seem to think it is.

If Trump really did "ban" the bull ◊◊◊◊ straw version of DEI that you two promote, then that's a good thing. But that's not what happened. He actually banned diversity, equity and inclusion, and all things that can be described by those three words are now off limits.

And so we are back to this. Ban diversity and all you have is monoculture. Ban equity and you have inequity (which by the way is exactly what his billionaire oligarch friends want). Ban inclusion and you have exclusion.

This is the America that you two voted for. Congratulations.

Arth has made a compelling case that he doesn't know what is and isn't false, in the American political landscape.

And that's fair. I have no idea what's really going on, politically, in King Charles' antipodian vassal state. Doesn't stop me from having opinions, though.

When they say "we're destroying DEI and salting the earth underneath it" and then they repeal regulations that go back to 1965, they're not talking about corporate diversity trainings.

They're talking about civil rights.

Nothing got repealed. Rescinding an executive order that got superseded by legislation isn't repealing anything.
