Trump's Second Term

Apparently it's not The USA wanting to take Greenland, it's Greenland wanting to join the USA.
If the people of Greenland want their territory to join America then America should accept them.

Trump has a solution:
Is it possible to put tariffs on intra-USA trade ?

I can see states (like California) putting in place standards and inspections which makes it more difficult for other states to ship goods, but actual honest to goodness tariffs don't sound possible.

Of course for Trump, tariffs are the solution to everything whether it's a slowing economy, a burgeoning deficit, raging forest fires or misplaced car keys.

Of course it is. Trump has power to do anything now. The Supreme Court will back this for national security. Some of those fires will spread to neighboring states!

Lucky for Musk he makes Teslas in Texas.

Section 9 of the Constitution is pretty explicit about this. It's probably a bit extreme to declare the Constitution unconstitutional. Or it was. These days you can't count on much.

Both of those places contain a lot of people of an "ethnic disposition" so Trump may be less eager to acquire them for the US.

He may change his mind about Greenland when he finds out how few of Greenland's inhabitants are ethnically Danish.
Greenland is right next to Canada, the USA's newest state. And they are not brown. Or Jewish. So the should be happy the worlds best real estate developer is going to build apartments there.

Trump has a solution:
Is karireports like the Onion? I can find nothing to support that Trump has said anything about tariffs on Calif. Not that he's not stupid enough to actually say something that dumb.

I also find no reference to Trump putting tariffs on California. Not to say he wouldn't think it a grand idea but no news of it. Plenty of articles on how the tariffs he did propose will be especially hard on California, but that's something else. Trying to fact check rumors about Trump is getting a little Poe-like. Nothing is so preposterous that it can be dismissed without checking.

The Greenland "gambit" is, IMO, about influencing this years Elections in the Danish province, and to extort extra rights to extraction in the Greenland zone - as with everything Trump does, he starts out with a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ insane demand in order to extract concession on the actual deal.

I would not be at all surprised if the idiot thinks Greenland is next door to Doonbeg.
