SO Democracy ia a failure...people are too stupid to govern themselves and power should be placed in the hands of an educated elite to run things?
That is the vibe I am getting.

In a Democracy there would be various parties and viable opposition. The US with its outdated two party, FPTP system is not a full democracy and I fear that the Republicans will now ensure there will be no challenge to their rule again.

This is kind of where I'm landing with all these "what's the resistance going to look like, and where will they post, and what color hats will be cool" themes. Whatever the resistance is (if there is one at all), it will have its hands dirty and full.

Parties never last forever. Eventually the proletariat rise up and wipe out all of the elite. In fact, that's exactly where Trump's popularity came from, he certainly is/was not a Republican. They just picked the wrong guy (a sociopath) to lead the 'drain the swamp' movement.

Sometimes people make stupid choices as in this election. However, democracy was/is/will not ever be perfect. But is there a better alternative? I don't think so.

A lot it will be quiet, and federalsim will come into play.
Real federalism..the states having real soverign power...not the crap that the federalist Soctiry peddles, which, as many historians have pointed out, would have horrified the actual federalist such as John Adams, Hamilton, etc.

I didn't say it would turn out well. Probably the only way it could is if there were a massive increase in intelligence across the board, and given recent referendums on human intelligence, I'm not very optimistic. Maybe a hundred years from now?? Assuming the planet hasn't been incinerated first.

Of course there's a better alternative: Me! Make me Supreme Leader and I will clean it all up in 24 hours. My first action will be to liquidate Elon Musk, and give out $2,000 checks to everyone who voted for sanity this election.
