Kamala Harris Election Campaign

It's funny how I don't support Trump so the rest of your post is ********. It's funny how when you completely make **** up about other people, it lets you say whatever the **** you want to and feel justified about it.

That's what happens when you parrot Right-Wing talking points. Remember when you did that? What was it about again? COVID, and some other stuff?

You talk just like a MAGA.

Nope. Disagreeing with YOUR party line about any particularly topic doesn't turn my views into right-wing views at all. Seriously, the only comment I had about Covid was that the spread was influenced more by population density, freedom of travel, and weather than by masks or idiotic comments made by politicians suggesting we inject sunlight or bleach into our bloodstreams. An objective look at spread across the globe, as well as the weather patterns and cultural behaviors demonstrate pretty well that viruses give no ◊◊◊◊◊ about politicians.

I don't talk like a MAGA, because I'm not one. And I'm very tired of you engaging in intentional disinformation about me.

Here's a recent Trump-friendly lie:
Sure... one 'side' wandered through the Capitol and did no material property damage and caused no actual harm.

I'm not aware that it was ever corrected or retracted, another notable trait of MAGA liars.

"MY" party line? Would you like a step stool to help get down from that pedestal you put yourself on? You have a party line, and I'm very tired of you engaging in intentional disinformation in general. If you don't like what I post about you, report it, ignore me, whatever you want to do. I don't care. There was a time I actually respected some of the things you posted up until about a month ago. Then you went on that right-wing nonsense fest in the thread, saying Russia was getting its ass handed to it by Ukraine, the capital stuff, and so on. I could not have less respect than for someone that would knowingly tell those lies, never correct themselves or admit it, and then expect some form of credence when they say ◊◊◊◊.

Save it. I don't give a ◊◊◊◊ about your opinions because you spout MAGA nonsense. Claim you aren't all you want, your actions say otherwise.

Neutrality is a statement that you are equally happy with either someone who supports the rule of law and the constitution or a rapist who tried to violently overthrow the results of the last election, and who has promised to abuse his office.

I was surprised when Harris showed up on SNL.
Voting comes down to finding an argument that supports your gut preference, and you might in extreme cases be persuaded to re-examine your premade decision if you encounter overwhelming evidence that goes contrary to your priors.
Hmmm. I find it more typical that people will ignore any evidence that contradicts their existing belief. They'd rather be wrong than admit they are wrong.

i just don't think you all have considered how unfair it is judge people based on the only things they ever talk about in long back and forth arguments that go into exhaustive detail and never lead anywhere

That's certainly true if you've been very vocal about your choice - but I think that a majority of Americans doesn't go around and explicitly tell everyone who they support.
If it's just you who knows that you've changed your mind there is no issue with saving face.

Domestic violence and coercive control isn't a political issue, it's a social issue.
I disagree. The whole basis of the Christo-Fascist element of MAGA thinking is that the woman shall always be obedient of, and subservient to, the man she is married to. He will tell her what to think, what to say, and when to say it. She is not allowed to contradict him or express her own opinions in public.

Also, keep in mind that those who have enacted state abortion bans thoughout the country are predominantly straight-white males.

I’m still confounded how a man such as Trump, along with his complicit sycophants, could breed such distrust in our electoral system. It’s all quite depressing.
Its not all that hard to understand when you realize those who vote for him are too stupid to realize they are being lied to, grifted for every penny The Fat Orange Turd can extract from them, and being led by the nose.

Always remember the wise words of George Carlin...

This always springs to mind

But you do talk like one. You lied about January 6, of all things!

Maybe the people accusing you of being a Trump supporter are also being reckless with the truth. But if the recipient of that recklessness is someone who prioritizes dishonesty, then I'm not going to be sympathetic. Clean up your house. Be the change you want to see.

This is a real offer: I will donate $100 to a charity of their choice if anyone claiming Trump is better on policy can cite one of those polices and a) explain in detail the net benefit of that policy and b) use only his words or official campaign materials as a source.

I don't want to see any Trumpsplaining. I want to see you quote Trump's statements on said policy and then defend his exact words.

And again, details please. "We need to close the border" isn't a policy position, it's a slogan. You would need to provide details on how the policy of closing the border would be carried out and why it's a net benefit, as Trump or his campaign has explained it.

Once you've met all those requirements, you can provide a link to your charity of choice and I will provide a receipt for the $100 donation.

Last bump for this offer. It expires after today.

Shockingly, no Trump voters have taken me up on it yet. We even had two Trump voters yesterday rather passionately defending Trump as strong on policy, yet neither seemed able to explain what those policies are. A Forbes article lacking any substance was as close as they could get.

I’m starting to suspect that maybe Trump isn’t strong on policy and maybe people are voting for him for other reasons.

As I've probably said upthread, many (most ?) people aren't really bothered about policies, they're more interested in slogans.

Policies are typically complicated, difficult to understand in detail and not certain to work whilst slogans are easily communicated and understood.

A complex policy on border control which recognises the US's need to keep the legal international flow of goods and people, the requirement to address illegal immigration, the desire to fulfil international obligations to offer asylum and a way of managing the millions of people who are currently in the US illegally (many of whom have offspring who are US citizens) will complex, difficult to digest and likely to be full of compromises which means that very few people will be happy with all aspects of the policy.

OTOH, a slogan which just says "Close the Border" will delight the tens of millions of voters who are uneasy about the current US policy on immigration and won't cause them to overthink things.

President Trump definitely offers the latter.
