Kamala Harris Election Campaign

What do you think RFK would want? Some cabinet position? Trump would probably reneg on that, but I could definitely see him getting an ambassadorship. Maybe to England, wouldn't be any worse than his granddad was.

Rumor is he wants a position in Health. I am blanking on the same of the department and I don't care to google it, but that's what he's aiming to get. Because we should definitely appoint an anti-vaxxer to run a health department.

Yeah maybe. Or maybe Junior wants his father's old job. Not that Trump would give him that job.

The proposal showing up on social media is RFK head of CIA.

The real person aiming for a cabinet position is Elon Musk, of course.

And if Trump were elected, I would absolutely expect that. Keep in mind, Trump doesn't actually know enough people qualified to do any of these jobs. All he knows is famous names. Or his kids.

That's how you get Gregg Abbott in charge of the DOE and a neurosurgeon in charge of HUD. Because he didn't know anyone who would actually be qualified.

Why in the world would Musk want a cabinet position?

May not mean a lot, but then it may. Then there's RFK fishing for a job. I've said before that in an election this close according to most polling in swing states, it's a very serious issue for the Harris campaign. Margins and all that.

Seems like nobody remembers Nader pretty much tipping the 2000 election to Bush Jr.

RFK was at 14% at one time, though not on many state ballots last I heard. I think many believe it's impossible that RFK dropping out and endorsing Trump is too small to make a difference. I'm afraid it may.
In my opinion...

I don't think RFK's endorsement means all that much. However, I think him dropping out of the race probably benefits Trump more than it does Harris, since the demographis RFK draws from (conspiracy nutjobs) have more overlap with Trump than they do with Harris.

Why in the world would Musk want a cabinet position?

Why in the world would he want to buy twitter?

By taking a cabinet position and letting Tesla and SpaceX function without his leadership (interference) he'd probably make more money.

MAGA complains that Democrats don't want to talk about the border, meanwhile the Republicans refused to pass the border bill months ago that would have strengthened the border. A bill that they helped write.

Hypocrites.

I'd like to say money shouldn't mean that much to the richest person on earth but Musk is in the process of foreclosing on a friend's home. He's as petty as Trump.

IDK, while I think you are correct that Trump's base has more conspiracy nuts. I don't think there are that many that weren't perfectly willing ot vote for Trump with or without RFK. Where conspiracy nuts with left leanings were probably less likely to vote for Biden or harris. So, I suspect if he drops out, his support is probably not going to go to trump in large numbers. I could easily be wrong. My guess is, most just won't vote.

I don't either. I don't think his support equals their support. Still I think that the majority of his supporters are more likely to vote for Trump than Harris.

It like just my opinion man but, I just don't understand why someone that would consider voting for Trump would vote for RFK instead. Just imagine, you're crazy enough to vote for RFK but lean right, why aren't you just gonna vote for trump? But I can sort of see someone wingnutty on the left that would rather vote for RFK than Harris but would vote for Harris if RFK isn't there.

Another way to say it, Trump is already wingnutty enough to appeal to wingnuts and RFKs appeal seems to mostly be wingnuttery and anti-establisment. While I know it's silly, Trump more or less has a monopoly on teh right side of that constituency.

I don't understand why anyone supports either. It's just a wild ass guess on my part. On one hand RFK is a prince of Democratic politics. You would think by that a typical Democratic voter might support him. But there is nothing typical about him. He has not only been disowned by the party, his own family has distanced themselves from him.

My guess is that any support he has will erode to under 2 points at the most. Or he will have dropped out.

Why in the world would Musk want a cabinet position?

.... because he's an egotistical manchild who thinks he's smarter than everyone else?

Because he's literally been begging for one on Twitter?

Because he's probably hemorrhaging money behind the scenes.

,,,you would know that their contract prices are generally good estimates of the probabilities of the outcomes being bet on.

Not correct.

Betting markets show what is happening right now. Their predictive ability is zero, because they're following the market, not setting it.

Energy, for a certainty.

In the UK immigration is a very effective distraction from real issues. Never mind rivers and beaches full of sewage, food banks and NHS stretched to breaking, look at those immigrants trying to come here to build a better life. Or in the USA crumbling infrastructure, job losses, etc
Get people angry and they stop thinking. It's the heart of populism.

Anger and fear are the bread and butter of Trumpism.

My sample size of 1 is a nephew that was talking positively about RFK Jr. over the 4th. I know he'll vote for Trump when Jr. drops out. Of course it's entirely possible he was going to in the first place.
