The Tim Walz campaign, and the ******** attacks upon him.

This is so silly. One group is non-medical people using medical terminology inaccurately, but getting the point across. Another group is carrying around fake semen in a cup like a talisman. One is weird. The other isn't.

Do I cringe when people say "girder" or "beam" when they point to something that isn't either of those? Internally, yes. But that doesn't mean they're lying.

it sucks because i spilled my cup of semen all over my diapers are cool t-shirt when i got into my american flag and trump fisting after he got shot wrapped cybertruck. but i'm a conservative so i took it on the chin, stood erect, and sucked it up. you ******* libtards

I mean, my wife would get mad at me because our first son was an IUI and our second was IVF. I'll spare you the details, but IVF does have a major step that isn't there for IUI. But, they both sucked for her.

However, she doesn't really care that Walz said IVF instead of IUI.

When I decide to run for political office, I'm going to make a bunch of speeches containing points which in informal speech are totally fine and it's obvious what I meant, but which are strictly speaking not quite technically accurate.

Then I'm going to sit back and watch my opponents launch nitpicking "well, akshully" attacks which make them look entirely desperate, and which do themselves a lot more harm than than they do me.

It's basically on a par with calling Donald Trump a rapist when a court only found that he had committed sexual assault, isn't it?

Dave

They agreed he stuck something inside of her body but couldn't confirm if it was his fingers or his dick. So, no, not really.

You gotta love that MAGA keeps going nuts over two minor technicalities that Tim Walz says over 3 weeks and yet turn a blind eye to a Trump telling a 162 lies/falsehoods in a 60 minute interview.

I'm not voting for Trump, I'm voting for Harris. And it is not a minor technicality when someone lies about how a personal experience resulted in their stance on a political issue.

It's no more a lie than me talking about hoovering my hall, when the vacuum cleaner isn't a hoover.

It wasn't a technical discussion.

In your own words, how does this affect how you feel about Walz? Do you think he's a liar? Do you find him less trustworthy? Do you think he cares less about people who want\need IVF and their struggles? Do you think he was just trying to score political points? The last question wouldn't make much sense because his wife went through fertility treatment, and so he legitimately has some understanding of what goes into the process.

I'm just asking because you seem to be stuck on it and I think you're blowing it a bit out of proportion.

Nope - because the judge from that case has said it is what most people would call rape. Indeed it's the opposite of this instance. (ETA: And that is in the judgement in I think it is the second defamation case. ETA1: thought i had it downloaded but can't find it, it was in his dismissal of a counter claim according to the Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Jean_Carroll_v._Donald_J._Trump "In August 2023, Kaplan dismissed a countersuit and wrote that Carroll's accusation of "rape" is "substantially true"." )

You are no true MAGA - you aren't wearing an ear bandage!

Nonsense. Neither were lies. You do understand the difference between a total fabrication and a nuanced difference don't you?

A lie and something that is colloquially true and technically not are incredibly different things. While it is totally appropriate to clear up the nuance, that isn't a call to say the man was lying.

And of course, the right-wingers used it as a way to tout some cartoon interpetation of masculinity, makes themselves look like weirdos, and further alientate millions of Americans.

It's called spin, and it's generally considered anti-social behavior in media outlets and politicians.

No, it's not considered anti-social behavior, and I'm not convinced it's spin either. I see nothing to show he is intentionally lying or making these things up to appeal to voters.

Then again, I don't have a need to tie nefarious intentions to Walz like some others do.

When my first wife and I were getting assisted reproductive technology procedures (IUI first then IVF) the Harley Street specialist we saw referred to both procedures as "IVF" though he mentioned "technically IVF is.....". Him and the local BUPA specialist were paid enough they could bite their tongue and use language my then wife was comfortable with.
If someone refers to their hard drive as "memory" I don't accuse them of lying. Depending on circumstances I may correct them but often it's not that big a deal.
