It's not a bad position to have.in many cases the broad strokes are enough to garner support. But the specifics matter, and more importantly the ability of supporters to influence policy before someone is elected. It's why I don't agree that candidates running on the same basic platform are interchangeable.

That would be a legit concern, but Harris has been on the campaign trail from the beginning, she didn't just step in mid-stream. She's been exposed to all the feedback Biden has, so I personally don't consider that a compelling worry.

Yes it is a sneaky dirty trick.

But no less dirty than when Trump stages pictures and images with crowds that aren't there. Or audiences that are paid to be there. How about when Trump says he had more than a 100,000 people at a rally in Jersey in a venue that only held 10,000 people? And not only wasn't there even a 10,000 people, there wasn't 4,000 people there.

What's kind of great about this is Trump is obsessed with size. And the Dems are trolling him with it.

You're thinking of the wrong New Jersey event. He was talking about the one in the part of the New Jersey coast that's famous for its thousand-foot mountains with unusually steep jungle-covered slopes. I heard one of the dozens of thousands of people there was Rod Stewart!

A suggest I'm copying from somebody else, not mine: compare their crowd sizes using a bar graph or column graph, but make the bars/columns look like penises, just to watch Trump react.

Biden has a 38% approval rating and was losing in the polls to Trump in a majority of swing states. I don't think she is running on the idea that she is Bidens policy mirror. If she is I want her to say it. This kind of gets back to the idea that some seem to think here that the candidate does not matter. I don't believe that.

Meanwhile, back in the Real World, Harris (who is, you may remember, the actual candidate) is leading Trump is states like Pennsylvania and Michigan.

What does that even mean, "invested" in it?

She didn't draft it. She wasn't even the candidate when it was drafted. How much input did she actually have on it? Possibly none, no one was obligated to listen to her when she was just VP candidate. Now, there tends to be quite a bit of correlation between the positions of people within the same party, so I'm not claiming that it's got nothing to do with her positions (she is still a democrat), but the party platform still isn't HER platform.

It is by modern reality.
