Penultimate Amazing
The Democrats have to have their convention first, before policies can be finalised, I'd have thought. The candidates have to reflect the party position.
The candidates do not have to reflect the party position.

Just a reminder, Harris officially became the nominee only 2 days ago.
Harris is obviously the most vacuous candidate in American history. The 2024 Dem platform was released July 13. Lots of specific initiatives and legislative goals. It's a document developed by many voices and sources of input -- it would be very strange, to say the least, if Harris wasn't invested in it.

She is to be celebrated for this. It is not necessarily an indictment because the machinery of state is robust and America will be the greatest nation in the history of the world when we are chilling below the sod.
Just a reminder, Harris is a grown-ass adult and a career politician. She's had literally years to figure out her policies. What has she been doing in the White House for the past three years, if not thinking about what she'd do and how she'd do it?
What exactly were you trying to remind us of? That Harris is an idiot, who only realized two days ago that she might want to come up with some policies?

What does that even mean, "invested" in it?
She didn't draft it. She wasn't even the candidate when it was drafted. How much input did she actually have on it? Possibly none, no one was obligated to listen to her when she was just VP candidate. Now, there tends to be quite a bit of correlation between the positions of people within the same party, so I'm not claiming that it's got nothing to do with her positions (she is still a democrat), but the party platform still isn't HER platform.
In what way? We have no interviews yet. She has no policies promoted and has faced no tough question inquiring into why or about them. That is not a healthy position for the press.
There is difference in reporting something to dispel the implication or to find out if it has substance. If you watch current cable news, there is far more of the former than the latter when it comes to democrats.
It's like Jake Tappers interview with Welz where he highlights general liberal policy hes passed and asks if he thinks it will help or hurt him with Trump. It's endorsement, not reporting.
She is wisely remaining a chameleon that can fill the void of whatever voters believe her to be.
This would not be possible with a normal situation as the primary would have forced her to reveal this stuff already.
Now the talking line seems to be that obviously we will have to wait for the convention for her policy positions to be revealed. Complete nonsense but is working for her so can't blame them.
You clearly have no understanding of American history.Wheres I think this might be the most inane thing you have posted in this thread.

Maybe describe some ineffable qualities you find in the candidate.Perhaps we’re in a situation where inanity is a feature and not a bug.
And it’s meant to simply stir the pot, rather than advance any real philosophy, argument or point of view. And in that respect, it continues to be effective.
Which is why we have peak Harris about now.
This election matters. That's wishful thinking. It might be true and it might not. It's not about her. It's about us. And what we want vs what the other side wants. Elections are never about a single candidate. (Unless they're running unopposed)
My father use to often joke that some specific election was a choice between Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and he didn't have a favorite Tweedle. But this isn't that. One shouldn't be under some illusion that this election doesn't matter.
This election matters.
Trump and Harris don't matter.
The direction of the enlightened west truly does matter.
Harris is attacking full frontal the way the west was won, and wishes to turn it over to the Islamists, and the various cults.
I am a profound Atheist, and wish Americans would grow up and ignore abortion.
