What difference does her position on immigration make when the GOP refuses to address immigration at all? Even when the solution comes from Republicans.

George W Bush proposed comprehensive Immigration reform and received a lot of support from Democrats. But it was heavily opposed by the far right and the agriculture industry and Bush dropped it.

Four months ago Republicans created a very tough immigration bill that Biden was all prepared to sign and then Trump obstructed it.

I could care less if she has the best or the worst solution to immigration if it's never going to happen.

It would be refreshing if simple questions prompted simple answers. You were wrong, it's OK to admit. If you want to argue that the president doesn't matter then what are we doing here? The thought that democracy will end with one guy and doesn't matter because the president has no power with another are not compatible. It's just unserious. A little humility seems reasonable.

Yes, it would be great if everything was simple. But lots of things aren't simple Especially comprehensive Immigration reform. But Kamala has made lots of statements about it. But if I was her, I would talk about it as little as possible. Imagine if Harris came out with a comprehensive immigration bill tomorrow. Everyone would find something in it to hate. And they would be justified in hating it. And Trump would demonize her for it even if he agreed with it mostly

If you go back to that Wikipedia page you will find her position on many issues and these are positions Republicans generally oppose. Finding her stances on many of the issues facing us is for the most part not difficult in the least.

reproductive rights is simple. So is her stance on marijuana legalization.

Your right, it's simple, nay better for politicians to run without policy positions or objectectives. Imagine some people disagreed with it? How bad would that be for that person's political future!

I'm done being flippant. You have an unserious position. Her wiki is useless. It doesn't matter if I know Harris is pro choice. How she plans to address it is what I want to know. Her wanting a ceasefire doesn't matter without knowing how she plans to accomplish it.

She wants lower healthcare costs? Great! How? This is basic stuff. She ran on universal healthcare in 2020. Does she even still hold that belief? I hate that this even needs to be said but a candidate for president actually has to campaign on something.
 
The Democrats have to have their convention first, before policies can be finalised, I'd have thought. The candidates have to reflect the party position.

No it's not.

Sometimes positions don't lead to actual solutions. And sometimes they do.
The issues that are never solved are political bombs. The ones that each party uses to divide. If you actually want to solve those specific issues it is a must to tone down the political rhetoric.

On others, you take a stand and sell it until the Overton window moves on the issue where the other party stops fighting it

Kamala is running on lots of concrete unambiguous positions. Reinstating reproductive rights doesn't require a creative solution. Neither does the legalization of marijuana.

She has positions on education that are unambiguous. And Unions. And elections. And democracy. And BTW, those last two are more important than all the rest.
 
Hey now. Trump said he was going to fox elections and democracy so that voting will not be necessary.

Once again you go back to claiming nonsense. And you know this, because we just went through the show and tell where you provided nothing. So here is your chance, once again, to show what these policies are. How does she plan to reinstate reproductive rights? She supports them. Great. What exactly is the plan? Lemme guess, it's super secret but definitely gonna work but we can't mention how because otherwise it won't.

This is why politics have become unserious. You just went on a diatribe about how her immigration policy doesn't matter because republicans will block it but somehow her opinion, not plan, for abortion matters. You can say that politics is unserious today, but you would be dead wrong. It's as serious as a heart attack.

There is nothing I would prefer than both sides on any issue provide their detailed HONEST solution and their argument to address it. But as a political junkie I know it rarely works that way. Her positions are for the most part are as detailed as they need to be at this point.

I've never been a one issue voter, but democracy continuing trumps (pun intended) EVERYTHING ELSE.

That makes no sense. First, the Biden team had little reason to hand the nomination to Kamala until their hand was forced by his sad performance at the debate. Second, it implies that the Democrats intentionally disenfranchised their voters by not giving them a real choice. That would strike me as a huge problem.

The media does need to learn that being unbiased does not mean "both sides get equal amounts of bad press". If Trump does 100 wrong things, the media does not need to report on meaningless bad stories about the democrats just to appear even.

More importantly, the media want to be seen as unbiased without going to the trouble of being actually unbiased. And given how bad the repugs have been since Nixon, the only way to thread that needle is to engage liberally in bothsiderism.
 
To be fair to the Trump Campaign, I think even most Democrats vastly underestimated how much popular for their Base her running would be compared to Biden.
The assumption that the DNC would go for a Clean Brake and look for a White Male wasn't that farfetched.
