IIUC, there's a state law that mandates non-discrimination, so it's all bathrooms, not just girls', so boys' bathrooms will be supplied with sanitary products, even if there is no-one needing them using that room at that school.

But in 2020, he PRAISED Tim Walz for deploying the National Guard.

We know, because lordy, there are TAPES!

The video has a shot of Trump whining about how Walz refused to send the National Guard and he had to do it.

But then there's the audio from June 1, 2020, where he is in an interview and Walz is in the audio as well, and Trump says,

I know Governor Walz is on the phone and we spoke, and I fully agreed with the way he handled it the last couple of days.

Unfortunately, none of this actually matters. MAGAts won't bother to find out about this, or if they hear it, they will dismiss it through some apologetics.

But make no mistake, in 2020, Trump thought Walz did the right thing in handling the situation in Minneapolis. Now when he's campaigning, he has changed his tune.

It simply isn't gender specific, which is something the Republicans are newly mad about. Our state has a similar law, which passed our heavily Republican legislature unanimously, but ours specifies that products are available in girls' and unisex bathrooms used by students. The Minnesota law is gender-neutral.

The freak-out is not over the fact that school children menstruate or which bathrooms the products will be available in so much as which bathrooms students are allowed to use. In some places in the United States, students are allowed to use a gendered bathroom consistent with their gender identity and presentation. This means that a student who menstruates may be using the boys' bathroom. Our state has one of those so-called "bathroom bills," which requires people who need to poop in state-owned buildings to use the bathroom designated for the sex listed on their birth certificate.

Republicans are mad at Tim Walz for not gendering the laws according to their policy preference.
