Kamala Harris Election Campaign

It almost sounds like they were tired of the accidental pregnancies resulting from their rapes producing offspring who scandalously complicated their inheritance situation.

What they realized is that, also under English law, fathers were legally required to support their children. By changing the status of children to that of the mother, they gained valuable property instead of having to pay for their free but unwanted, half-black children.

The attack ads are already out on Walz declaring him a "dangerously liberal extremist".

Why is he so "dangerously liberal"? Because
Walz and lawmakers eliminated nearly all of the state abortion restrictions enacted in the past by Republicans, protected gender-affirming care for transgender youth and legalized the recreational use of marijuana.
and
Rejecting Republican pleas that the state budget surplus be used to cut taxes, Democrats funded free school meals for children, free tuition at public colleges for students in families earning under $80,000 a year, a paid family and medical leave program and health insurance coverage regardless of a person’s immigration status.

Assuming this was a good faith quesiton and say that proponents of DEO programs are oppsoed to the context with which people who say "DEI hire" are using it. Its being sued to imply the person was picked simply due to their race, rather than beneiftting from a program meant to expand the search for qualified candidates.

Saying VP HArris is a "DEI hire" has a very different sound that "VP Harris is a successful example of DEI initiatives" (although to my knowledge that isn't true either)

I hate this framing, ideas stand on their merit. Why position my response as anything but what it is. Anyway, to your response it seems like cedeing the point if you can't defend the policy on what it has accomplished. If I hired my son and claims of nepotism arose I would highlight successful contributions. How his experience under me gives a base of experience added to by his own generations insight to push the company forward. Claims to the contrary would only be quieted by success. If you have none to highlight, that seems like the actual problem.

Main problem? That's on page 19 of the list of problems. The main problem is the GOP has been subsumed by a cult that opposes democracy, and promotes racism and whacked out conspiracy theories.

Cute.

Referring to someone as a "DEI hire" is a coded way of calling them the n-word.

Or it's being used to undermine confidence in one's abilities. Legacy admission. Trust fund baby. Etc etc. This is not new. Plenty of complaints about unearned rise in life. The only way these are dispelled is through countering with success. Why is that not being done?

Aware she's "doing black face"? Here, I'll write a memo to her on your behalf...

Memo to Harris: Despite that the Caribbean region is generally considered part of the Americas, you must identify as One Half African-Carribean-American otherwise you're doing black face.

It's takes some doing for a Trump synchophant to achieve new lows.
Have the Trumpettes called her a mulatto/quadroon yet?

For a non-US person why do people become VP? Apart from the slim chance of becoming president by virtue of an assassin, what is in it for an ambitious politician. Do VP usually get chosen to be the next presidential candidate? Clearly Biden got a stinking pension out of it, and IMHO should have retired and not stood for the presidency. But what do VPs do after VPing? The only one who I can think of who has made a mark for themselves is Quayle.

You know what would help? Not ignoring half of what I said.

But we're not talking about hiring your kid. In fact, it is very much the opposite of what we're talking about.

You mean like pointing to Harris' experience as DA in San Francisco and AG of California? The point of throwing out a phrase like "DEI hire" is not to discuss the qualifications or accomplishments of the person in question. It is to dismiss all of that outright. And any success that person claims will just be written off with "I bet a white guy could have done it better".

Meanwhile Harris has chosen a running mate who seems like a good normal guy, whilst Trump choose someone who keeps changing his name, and who's had to consider whether to deny a lewd story about sofas, and who tweeted a lewd story about a dolphin.

Not exactly a stellar attack from the side that, a couple of weeks ago, was insisting that everything was just fine with an even more obviously aged alternative. It just screams "Even I don't really buy what I'm pushing half of the time!".
Um, yes, Biden was older. That's... Kinda the point. The GOP has been screaming (projecting, really) about Biden's age and health for years. After making age such a talking point, they're suddenly left as the only side that has a candidate aged around 80.

It's not uncommon. Biden, Gore, and Bush Senior were VPs. It's not a career dead end, but it's also not a guaranteed progression upwards. I think the successful VP-to-Pres examples happened because enough voters liked the corresponding president and were voting for "more of the same" rather than anything new and different they might bring.

You get seen as a "party leader" for whatever that is worth. You probably are getting involved in a lot of important decisions. It kind of depends on why you were selected as VP. Biden served as Obama's VP to help the younger, less experienced President handle the legislature.

And also put a comfortable old white guy face next to the far left black radical. /s...kinda

Cheney also did this for W and El BJ did this for Kennedy

I imagine Walz is filling this role in a smaller way with Harris. He spent a few terms in the House and also was a successful governor.

A VP may be used to appeal to a demographic the president doesn't or to "reward" a demographic for their support.Pence was chosen to appeal to the evangelical base of the Republican party and give the Orange Weakling credibility with Bible thumpers. Biden named Harris his VP partially as a thank you to black women, who have been vital tothe Democratic Party.

The VP may have specific experience to address something POTUS wants to focus on. One fo the things I don't think gets enough attention is the way the FTC and DoJ have gone after corproate malfeasance udner the Biden Administration. This is something Harris also did as Califronia AG, so she may have been part of that. It certainly seems to be on her agenda as POTUS.

A lot of people thin tkhe VP should "ideologically balance" POTUS. Gore supposedly did this for Clinton, as well as add an established name to the newer one.

Or, it may be a case of being "demoted up stairs". Teddy Roosevelt was named William McKinney's VP because the party bosses were hoping it push him into obscurity while satisfying his progressive supporters.

Do VP usually get chosen to be the next presidential candidate?

Its not automatic, but its a good leg up. The problem is, it is rare for a VP to succeed after a 2 term POTUS. Granted, we're talking about a very small sample size.

Clearly Biden got a stinking pension out of it, and IMHO should have retired and not stood for the presidency. But what do VPs do after VPing? The only one who I can think of who has made a mark for themselves is Quayle.

Make documentatires about global warming? Chair departments at universities? Public speaking events? Cameo on the Simpsons?

Very often.

19 former or standing Vice Presidents have become their party's Presidential nominee and more as of late. Since 1945, Truman, Nixon, LBJ, Humphrey, Ford, Mondale, George H. W. Bush, Gore, Biden and now Harris. It's as good a leg up for a Presidential run as you're going to get.

And has some...ideas...about women's careers.

It's like you're not understanding what I'm saying. I'll spell it out super clearly for you.

The phrase "DEI hire" is used by racists as a coded way of dismissing someone because of their skin color. In the mind of a racist, the only way a black person can rise to a level of prominence is because they were given something they did not deserve, i.e., the government has maliciously upended the social hierarchy, and now that dark-skinned individual is not in their "proper place."

A thorough portrayal of Harris' successful political career will not sway a racist mind because the mind of a racist has not developed through a misaligned analysis of the facts. Racists just hate/fear/mistrust black people. But obviously, they can't just say that. So they use coded language like "DEI hire" because it makes it look like there is something intellectual underpinning the racism.

At least, it looks that way to those who are less skeptical than average. You may be one such example.
