Kamala Harris Election Campaign

There may be State laws that require delegates to vote for the candidate that won the state's primary election. (At least on the first ballot)

And if that candidate has withdrawn???

You cant require a delegate to vote for a non-existent candidate.

Kamala Harris is the worst candidate in history.
And that is the most hyperbolic statement in the entire history of the observable universe since the Big Bang. Seriously, alien species from all over the Local Group are presently converging on Earth to exterminate the source of such intolerable exaggeration. You've doomed us all! DOOOOOOMED!!!

She is completely inarticulate and you all know this but have crowned her mindlessly.
Yeah, that time she talked about Washington's Continental Army securing the airports, and the time she went off the rails praising a crackpot who thinks health issues are caused by alien DNA and demon sex just go to prove how inarticulate and stupid she is. And don't get me started about her bizarre fear of sharks.

Wait... Who were we talking about?

Ayaan Hirsi Ali condemns her policies with surgical skill, but her analysis is off topic.
With the same lack of bias she applies to everything else.

I have no idea. I said there could be. There are 50 states and different laws in all of them. State laws may very well require that they do, But it should be noted that state laws are written by politicians. I'm sure they have it handled.

Something tells me we're paying attention to the peas and not the steak.

Harris and her choice for VP will be nominated.

If you've ever followed the vote at a party's national convention, you'll have often heard of candidates who have withdrawn getting votes on the first ballot. Even when that candidate has "released" their delegates and endorsed the presumptive nominee.

Those are vanity votes. You'll see votes for candidates that aren't even running. Back in the day before so many States having primaries almost anything could happen. It's much more scripted now. It doesn't look good or democratic when a State holds an election and the delegates voting for someone entirely different.

With Joe dropping out, I wondered for a moment if we could actually see a brokered Convention. That idea lasted about 36 hours.

Now you're being hyperbolic! It would take up to 10 million years for some of them to get the message, and another 10 million at least for the fleet to arrive. The idea that they will get here soon is patently ridic... Hey, what's that in the sky?

This may be the stupidest thing that has ever come from Newsmax:

Newsmax pundit accuses Kamala Harris of 'doing blackface' to win presidency

Republican pundit Will Pierce insisted that Vice President Kamala Harris was "not Black" and, instead, accused her of "doing blackface."

During a Sunday panel discussion, Newsmax host Lidia Curanaj falsely claimed that Harris "changes her race depending" on her campaign strategy.

Pierce, a former Democrat, said he wanted to address the issue.

"I'm going to say this as a Black African-American man," he explained. "Kamala Harris, she's a person of color."

"But this is the thing," he continued. "She is now race-baiting. She is now doing blackface."

"She is not Black. She is a Jamaican-American. She is an Indian-American."

Pierce claimed that Harris was "Black all of a sudden" and would not be accepted by other Black Americans.

"If you ask a lot of African-American people, I'm sorry, what they're going to say is, Jamaicans, they are Caribbean-American," he insisted. "But you have this woman who is sitting here saying that she's Black just to get elected."

Weren't Caribbean Americans originally brought from Africa on the same slave ships as African Americans?

I suspect any such laws would be found unconstitutional state meddling in intra-party politics. There is a party rule on this, but it's intentionally vague:

Delegates elected to the national convention pledged to a presidential candidate shall in all good conscience reflect the sentiments of those who elected them.

That's wide enough to drive a truck through.

Not stupid at all. Something I'm sure many African American voters are already well aware of.

They're well aware of the stupidity of the claim just as they were when the same crap was trotted out about Obama. After all, his father was from Kenya, so they rejected him as being "African-American". Oh, wait, they didn't.

Percent turnout among eligible voters by race:

2008: Black 69.1% White 65.2%

2012: Black 67% White 62%

Black voters are not rallying behind Harris at all which is why they haven't been able to raise any money. Oh, wait...

While many Black women were ready to support Biden’s reelection bid, the news that Harris would likely replace Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket energized a lot of Black female voters, said Shavon Arline-Bradley, president of the National Council of Negro Women.

Arline-Bradley said Black women were excited to have a candidate they could identify with and one they believe will fight for the issues they care about such as health care, education and economic development.

“To see a person who represents your community, that looks like you, has the lived experiences that you’ve had, an HBCU grad, Divine Nine member, you have someone who is in church on Sunday with her family,” Arline-Bradley said. “These are Black women values.”
Harris is an alumna of Howard University, a historically Black institution.
