Kamala Harris Election Campaign

Really bothers you white boys huh?

Black woman about to be your President, and all.

I know you'd love to believe these things for reasons. Just like Harris would love for her crowd to believe she speaks with a Southern accent. It's all for show.

Black people sometimes choose to use a southern-like accent when talking with each other, even if they live in the West or the North or the East. Its a cultural thing. But Im sure this will be a great campaign issue for Trump.

"Indian Harris talks like southerner to REAL black people!!!! Vote Trump2024!!!"

:p

Yeah, keep focusing on her race and her accent. That will win over the Independents!!!!

:P

I agree. Democracy depends on voters taking the time to properly inform themselves about the people and issues they are voting for. If they can't be bothered to do that their ignorance can be exploited by those willing to tell them whatever lies pander to their prejudices, which is when democracy fails. We have seen several examples of such failures in the last few years (e.g. Brexit, Trump).

If someone doesn't have the time or inclination to educate themselves, the responsible thing to do is leave the decisions to those that do.

The last thing I'll say on this subject is that once again I am amazed at the vigour with which Americans will defend their right to not give a ****.

That's your inference from something no one has said. Stating that some voters don't care to inform themselves and forcing them to vote won't change that attitude is not equivalent to "defending their right not to give a ****."

Even if you are correct that Harris panders to the crowd.... the other guy does that too, and much much more. Suggesting Nascar drivers (or team owners?) as military generals the other day.

Is that why the entirety of the rest of her speech, both before and after your quoted excerpt, was not spoken with a southern accent? That's not a way to convince the crowd.

Try harder.

Credulous cultists do not recognize their cult leader is a phony, a con man, who say things to elicit the adulation of the cult.

Another Trump comment that has no rational explanation other than he's an idiot.

Nate Silver rates the election as a toss-up; although Trump is still more likely to win, Kamala has shaken things up a bit:

Now that the election is in kamala_mode, however, it’s far from clear whose position you’d rather be in, and I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to bet either on Harris or on Trump. At FiveThirtyEight, we actually had a formal definition of a “toss-up”, which is an election where each candidate had at least a 40 percent chance of winning. We’re now quite comfortably into that territory. As of this afternoon’s model run, Harris’s odds had improved to 44.6 percent, as compared to 54.9 percent for Trump and a 0.5 percent chance of an Electoral College deadlock.

Pretty much where the betting markets are today; Trump at 51.4 and Kamala at 43.6. Keep in mind that's much better than where Joe Biden was before the debate debacle; he was at 35.7 on June 25. I think we can say with quite a bit of confidence that the Democrats are in much better shape with Kamala at the top of the ticket.

As of right now, that's probably correct as Kamala will keep building and Trump will keep sliding.

His analogy of: Democrats have ace-king suited, and Republicans have pocket jacks is probably how it feels at the start of August.

By October, It'll be after the flop, which will be A, 10, 3, with the 10 - 3 suited to the pocket.

I'd go all-in for sure.

Explain again why forcing somebody to vote will make him give a ****l
And most of the world agrees with the US; few nations have followed the Austrlians here.

That doesn't mean at all that they agree or disagree with the US or Australia. If a country feels their model works, that's what they use. Notice how no other country uses an electoral college like ours? Yeah, that's the world not agreeing with the US. This is exactly what I talked about in my post. Americans have such a boner for this ****** up country that they think everyone wants to be like us or agrees with us.

Australia is just fine, and the US could be a ******* dumpster fire in 3 months. Quit acting like we're some pinnacle. We're mid-stack at best.

For a Trumper accusing anybody of doing something for Show is so totally outrageous I don't know here to begin.
And they have no idea of how hypocritical they are.
But Harris has them scared, that is for sure.

God, all I did was say I thought Manadatory voting was a bad idea.
I never got why some people enjoy running down their own country so much.

I don't think she's got them more scared than they would be with anyone other than Biden. They were definitely looking for to that race, now they've got to adjust to someone that isn't a million years old and obviously senile.

Agreed, I just don't see how Mandatory Voting educates anybody.
It's , frankly Magical Thinking, that making somebody go to the polls is going to make them somehow a "better citizen".

Every Politician plays to the crowd. I make no exceptions.
