Sometimes, it definitely feels like Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde. Usually, I see him as a thoughtful conservative. And I genuinely appreciate that. I rarely agree with his take on things. But it's important to hear other views when they are reasonably considered.

But his perspective on Harris wasn't honestly considered. And his conclusion that poliis a cr

It was a rationalization to support someone he knows is a fraud and a grifter. So what does he do? He projects. It is Trump's and now the right's favorite tactic. They can not defend Trump and his actions so instead they/he says their opponents do the same thing.

They want to suggest there is a moral equivalence. But it is not honest. It is not based on the facts. And Prestige didn't expect to be refuted quickly. So instead of continuing the engagement, he ran away.

B. Buttigieg. I heard an interesting analysis of him as a possible running mate. He's basically a living shibboleth of the college educated elite lefty and will bring no votes that Harris is not already getting. I'm curious because I like Buttigieg but I also agree, not a great choice for the VP because he doesn't bring anything to the table Harris doesn't already have. Same for Newsom, though my feeling is Newsom actually brings more negatives than Buttigieg.

I'd like Buttigieg to run for the senate in NY or CA have a 10 ish years there then run for the POTUS.

C. I'd like Trump to have a monopoly on childish name calling in US politics.

Otherwise it does seem like we are addressing the arguer not the argument.

He's from Indiana, though. Why would he need to spend a decade being a senator from a state he's never lived in?
 
I think Harris presents a unique make-or-break for non-MAGA Republicans. How can they vote for a California Democrat? How a "DEI hire"? Can they help elect a Dem that may in power for years to come? Maybe they held their nose and voted Biden, but Harris presents a different set of challenges.

If they're embarrassed by what their party has become, if they feel any responsibility for having brought it there, I suspect the coming election is going to be a genuine moral dilemma for many of them.

Well, he is certainly more likely to win a State wide election in CA or NY than Indiana.

Why move to NY? Because they have a history of electing carpet baggers as a steppingstone to run for the presidency. Any rate, supports my argument that Buttigieg should move to New York because his husband wants to and then run for the Senate.

The racists (those who would have sat out the election under Biden but will vote for Trump against Harris) are a real demographic whose size we don't have a good estimate for yet, but I don't think the contrarians' behavior will shift that much. Oh they'll say that would've voted for Biden, but I'm sure if Biden was still running that they'd have said they would've voted for someone younger instead.

Are you kidding? It goes on in almost every state. Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville didn't live in Alabama when he was elected. He lived in Florida. Herschel Walker didn't live in Georgia when he ran for the Senate there. He lived in Texas. Buttigieg can go anywhere
 
Yes, but ahhell's argument is that to be qualified for the presidency Buttigieg first needs to go off and be Senator Carpetbagger for a decade, which will help him somehow despite the scornful way ahhell describes the process. After all, doing the same thing and waiting patiently until it was her turn worked so well for Hillary Clinton.

On topic, I'd just like to mention that whoever is doing the Harris campaign's press releases has been hitting it out of the park.

Apparently, qualifications only apply to Democratic candidates. Agree all, Trump has zero qualifications and the Republicans didn't care.

i think that’s exactly what happened. biden was too old but he stepped down and now harris is too, well you know what she’s too, so it goes.
