I don't think this will affect the election at all as far as getting Trump more votes. Why would an attempted assassination make someone vote for him who wasn't already going to? Why would it influence an undecided? I don't see it.

I'm just hoping it's someone with severe mental problems.

Nothing is a certainty. For all we know, a brush with mortality might trigger an intense re-evaluation of his life and lead Trump to withdraw from public life and pursue spiritual enlightenment through religion, diet, and raising fancy dogs. Speculation may be entertaining but it's hardly sensible to proclaim one possibility out of a range as being certain.

Here's another possibility, since we're playing this game: raising a fist while being walked off a stage only proves a person wasn't killed immediately by a shot. The injury may actually have been more serious. When you see Trump walking around and talking several hours from now you can dismiss that possibility, but for all we the public know he is right now in an operating room. Not all headshots are instant death, the human body is more complicated than video games make it out to be.

I think we can give him a little leeway here. After all, someone just tried to kill him. I'd be rattled, too.

I wonder how long, if ever, it took him to asked if anyone else was hurt.

At this point, the only undecided voters are low information voters. If you don't think these folks would be sympathetcally influenced by this apparent assassination atempt, I don't know what to tell you.

I don't see it either. The brutal murder of Jo Cox in the UK by a pro-brexit nazi was expected to turn the stomachs of undecided voters but it didn't swing the vote at all. And the vote was just a week later.

Ok the hardcore MAGAchud were already on-site so they won't be affected. But some moderate voter who thought "maybe I should vote democrat because republicans can't be trusted to respect democracy" might now think "both sides are the same" and sit out the election as a result.

One witness reported he thought the shooter was 100-120 feet away, outside the perimeter on a one story building.

The Secret Service has teams set up on similar buildings.
