As the Barnardo's statement (above) shows - we are in the midst of a continuing porn scandal that should have been dealt with years ago.
It is harming people - here is the reality (from Barnardo's):
Your argument is with the likes of Daniel Kebede (a former teach - now General Secretary of the NEU in the UK) who, as I have already pointed out, firmly points the finger away from parents.
Do you have similar expertise to Kebede?
Which argument? The quote you produced agreed with the post of mine you quoted!

Your position (and others) is merely to point the finger at parents.
You think we should immediately shut down material that Bernardo's says is 'rife on mainstream porn sites'? Bernardo's and other charities and child experts called for immediate action 2 years ago.
I don't see many or anyone here agreeing.
Absolutely agree with the quote that you reproduced, I don't think anyone here would disagree with it.
It is encouraging that you agree with it - but I didn't ask that.
I'm sorry, I'm still failing to see how it is unrealistic to expect parents to, well, to parent. To manage and control that which their children are exposed to and use their best judgement to do so.
I'm probably missing something.
I asked:I said I agreed with it, didn't you ask me that?![]()
This only addresses the access children have to porn...the Barnardo's statement goes further...
If it were realistically possible 'to parent' as you suggest then Kebede would have said otherwise than he did:
We can’t individualise the issue and put it down to problem parenting
This seems to boil down to "It’s very difficult when every other child has access to a smartphone to be that parent who says no." (a direct quote from the article).
Well, no ****. Who said parenting was easy. It's not. It's legendarily difficult. Parents have to do difficult things like say 'no'.
Have we really arrived at the point where it's impossible for parents to say 'no' to children?
You are an expert like Mr. Kebede? Why didn't the Guardian just rubbish what he said ...as you have?
...and nothing that deals with the rest of the Barnardo's statement that isn't about children accessing porn.
What is this, every two weeks this thread resets to zero?
What is this, every two weeks this thread resets to zero?
Or it's a reminder every once in a while of the continuing societal scandal of anything goes internet porn.
Did you read the Barnardo's statement? Do you agree that we should immediately take down the material they describe as 'rife on mainstream porn sites'?
You clearly missed my previous reply to you.
You are of course entitled to your opinion but this isn't a serious rebuttal of what I said.
That 'rape culture' normalizes and trivializes sexual abuse is just a formal definition.
Oh, I lost interest in this long ago. I'm just curious because I've never seen a monomania on a set two-week cycle.
