Split Thread Trump Document indictment (as opposed to other indictments)

Federalist Society - whether Cannon makes it on the nomination list for any other position entirely depends on some old rich men being convinced that she will put their needs over annoying little things like laws.

So...a threat of non-promotion in her chosen profession. Black-balling, IOW.

Everyone can see that Cannon is not qualified to hold the job she has, never mind being on the SC.
A right-wing law firm might hire her for her name, but they wouldn't let her do any actual work.
The only way for her not to end up as a Talking head for a while is being hyper-partisan for Republicans.

and how incompetent and unethical has she been? and yet, nothing can be done.

to me, that this how things work, is insane.

I saw an interview of a retired federal judge who says he never once in his career heard of any judge going to another judge to advise they not take a case. Clearly these judges had real concerns about Cannon's abilities to hear this case and her actions, so far, have done nothing to prove them wrong. His own view is that she is in way over her head and the case needed a more experienced judge than Cannon.

Come now, give her credit: she can Jar-Jar Binks her way into the history books!

Doesn't she have a boss? Someone that could pull her off the case for incompetence, or bias?
From what I understand, the prosecution could ask her to recuse herself, and if she does not, they could go to the 11th circuit court and ask her to be removed.

The problem is, the circuit court doesn't like to remove judges from cases without valid reason, and the 11th circuit leans conservative. They could end up failing to have her removed and just angering her. (If they do take that step, they probably want to make sure they have a lot of evidence on which to base their motion to have her removed.)

In general, its a bad idea to anger the judge presiding over your case. But, Cannon is so biased/incompetent it probably doesn't matter if they anger her at all, she'll be in Trump's pocket regardless.

She's already tetchy enough, reading the article.
