Farage backed out of the BBC interview because they wouldn't give him the questions in advance so he could prepare his answers.

That'll be why 40% of the votes cast were for him in 2017 then?

Are you referring to the general election?

Because that's not how it works.

I mean, I'm sure you know that, but it's worth being clear about these things.

There are many that haven't, and one of my FB friends who is an active Labour supporter usually, is regularly posting about how bad Labour are, and people should vote for someone else. She supports Corbyn or course, and assumes the Tories are toast, enough that she actually discourages people to not vote Labour.

This has always been a problem for Labour since I first voted for them in 1979. People who prefer the ideological purity of opposition to the hard decisions of power. The right wing seems more willing to work together to stay in power than progressives. Voting, as has been said, taking a bus not a taxi. You take the one that's nearest to where you want to go to, not refuse them all because they don't stop at your front door.

ETA that's why I still voted for Corbyn in the election as he was still a far better option than the Tories.

Yes, I know how it works.

The point is that I cannot reconcile him gaining 40% of the votes available while the...

Labour members saw that over and over. Corbyn was useless as a leader and campaigner. Constructive ambiguity my arse.

It just doesn't match up.

Yup me too, except for my first election being a decade later

Just for clarification, up until now (and probably for the foreseeable future) Labour have always been a far better option than the Tories.

Reform says

"As Nigel Farage vows to stand against 'violent left-wing mob who hate our country' latest polls show support SOARING"

Reform poll figures

April 14%
Tody 13.6%

Let me get this straight...On the one hand Farage complains in Barnsley about people trying to stifle debate, but on the other he won't agree to be interviewed on the Beeb unless they abide by his wishes to allow him to control any discussion?

Riiiiiiiiiight...

ETA Oooops, sorry there: the Graun is reporting that Farage can't talk to Nick Robinson for"logistical reasons". OK, I suppose this has some internal consistency: in his drive to send us back to the 1930s Farage clearly cannot acknowledge the existence of the likes of Zoom...

Reform are also considered asking Ofcom to investigate Have I Got News for You over 'bias' after what they call a 'rant' by Ian Hislop against Farage without any opposing view.

The trouble is that Nigel just doesn't understand our culture. We have a long tradition of taking the piss out of fascist twerps.

Problem is the BBC is so supine these days they are likely to give in, look what happened to Mock the Week.

That empty Starbucks cup thrown towards Farage as he paraded the streets on the open top deck of a bus has somehow changed in to a brick.

As was pointed out on Xwitter, we hate Farage, Farage hates the country (based on what he's done to it.).
