Cont: Luton Airport Car Park Fire IV

Vixen do you believe you are knowledgeable enough on vehicle fires and/or photographic/videographic analysis to be able to accurately assess images and videos of the fire?

I’ve always been amazed by people who can determine the chemical composition of a material just by looking at a video or photo of it. /s

A friend of mine works in a forensics lab for the federal police. I've told her she's wasting time and money with all that equipment and lab protocols when she could just watch some iphone footage and draw conclusions from that.

I wonder what would happen if she responded to cross-examination by saying, "I'm not accusing anyone of anything; I'm only reporting current events."

Reminds me of a line from a movie...

"You have been weighed, you have been measured, and found wanting."

To which the standard answer has been, "Don't be snobbish." After all, you don't need a degree or qualifications or brains or knowledge or the faintest clue in order to just ask questions.

Likewise, take a look at the burning vehicle, it can be identified as a Range Rover and that it looks like a lithium-ion fire.

In what way does it look like a Lithium-ion fire?

What colour should a Lithium-ion fire be, and how can you determine accurately that the images reliably show it being that colour?

As to the highlighted part, you have yet to actually present a video even appearing to show a car "spurting out lithium flames". Remember you've been asked to point to the "highly directional, jet-like flames" in the videos and you have not responded. Remember when you were asked to link the flame color video to what we see in the videos? You haven't responded to that either.

The only person with an obvious bias here is you, and as that bias is repeatedly exposed you try to project it on to others. If it can be proved to have been an EV, or a hybrid, that's fine. No one here has argued that they can't burn, or that they can't cause as much damage as a gasoline or diesel vehicle. If a Tesla had fully caught on fire in the same location, the effect on the garage would have been the same. You're the one making the ridiculous conspiracy theory claim that EV fires are some sort of apocalyptic, national disaster, nuclear meltdown event based on nothing but ******** you've read on the internet.

As to the non highlighted parts, WTF?

Please compare and contrast the following. Put aside all preconceptions and decide for yourself whether flames projecting sideways is the normal trajectory for flames. Note also the colour of the vapour/smoke.

What is a "normal" trajectory for flames?
Please describe in your own words exactly what a "normal" trajectory should be under any given circumstance.

Note also the colour of the vapour/smoke.

What do you know about the contrast settings and colour balances of the cameras that took these videos? What do you know about the effects on the colours of data compression when the videos were uploaded?

Fuzzy videos in which the cameras are having trouble dealing with the extremes of contrast.

As someone whose former job involved detailed colour analysis I can say with some certainty that those videos are next to useless for drawing any conclusions about the colour of anything beyond "It seems to be sort of orange"

Clearly a sodium-ion fire.

Why does it look like a Li-ion battery fire? It fails to exhibit the criteria you've put forth in that it isn't magenta in color, and there isn't any "highly directional, jet-like flame". You've simply made your usual 'pretending to be a qualified expert' performance followed by your usual 'ignoring all problems with claim' evasion.

Forget the anonymous, unauthored, unsigned statement that says otherwise.
So, give in to your peer pressure and ignore the official fire service report issued by an agency with both expertise and access to the scene.

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"

And do you still want to talk about the news report about the blue Renault? Specifically, can we talk about how your sample of one establishing the "anomaly" involved a situation in which the news was assisting in finding a driver who fled the scene of a serious accident by reporting the make, model and color of the car?

What do you see?

More evidence of your arrogant assumptions about your investigative ability and complete ignorance of the numerous factors involved in photography that make comparing and contrasting two videos such as those unreliable, at best. So your typical Dunning-Kruger Effect nonsense.

Clearly a sodium-ion fire.

It's actually far worse than that, because unless you know that there is only one type of ion involved in the flame you could have a combination of several different flame colours all interacting.

The only way to determine the ion content at that point would be a spectral analysis, which would be impossible even if you had the unadulterated original video file and perfect knowledge of its colour balance.

Try this video here from the front view.

Do you now see how the flames shoot out in projectile bursts sidewards?

Do you see the white/grey vapour /smoke?

Do you see the flames spurting from beneath the car?

Since when was beneath the car the 'engine bay'?

There was also the red Corsa which crashed thanks to a daft swan thinking the motorway was a river. That car was identified. No problemo.
