Indeed. HOW ELSE CAN IT POSSIBLY WORK? "It's a blind trust and the politician only knows what is in his investment portfolio by checking it in the register of interests"? I think I can see a problem with that.
What? Did you not know how it works? What a peculiar thing to say whilst putting it in quotation marks as if it isn't you yourself claiming it. It is OK to be confused but it is easy enough to look it up as to how it works.

Did you actually read and understand the post you think you're making fun of?

Vixen, do you believe someone in this thread is accusing you of claiming Sunak is registered blind? If so please quote the person doing so.

Actually that's what being on the "Blind Register" literally means, however I don't think anyone takes the OP literally or seriously.

No it doesn't. You're lying again.

ETA Interesting that he is on the register that Jay linked to. I stand corrected.

The register you linked to leads us to a compendium of declarations that are current until superseded. Full lists seem to be produced in April of each year, with periodic updates throughout the year. That Sunak updated his registry effective December 2023 to include a blind trust does not mean that the April 2024 omission of such a trust is inoperative.

Yes, when Vixen claimed that "blind register" was shorthand for the registry of interests, this led many people to check up on this an conclude that they only reference they could find in UK usage to "blind register" was the register of blind people in the UK, kept so that benefits could be distributed. No one accused Sunak of being blind, of being on the "blind register" for that reason, or Vixen of claiming any such thing.

It's just an artifact of Vixen telling easily refuted lies.

I particularly like the part when after lying/being in error (Parliamentary Joke) on something and having it pointed out, with evidence, she 180s from doubling down to lecturing the people who corrected her on the very point they corrected her on. That's always good for a laugh.

The 'red Vauxhall Corsa' that burnt down t'other day after colliding with another car to avoid a swan on the motorway (that mistook it for a river).

Based on that, only mentioning the model of car 50% of the time is normal.

What year was the Corsa? Are you suspicious they didn't tell you? What make, model and year was the other car? What colour was the swan?

One example, only mentioning make and model.

Still waiting for evidence it's unusual not to report make model and year.

And what was the nae of the owner? Were they arrested?

But he couldn't make the numberplate legible because he didn't want anyone to expose it as a fake. As it happens, he can simply claim that that is what he deciphered should anyone disprove his theory of it being such and such registration number and here's what DVLA says.

It's kind of interesting, then, that no one has objected to the announced license plate. I wonder if the owner of that plate has been contacted. If so, surely he would have reacted to the false identification -- unless he's the real owner.

It's a cute story you've worked up, but I think it's a wee bit fanciful that an EV afficionado, activist or lobbyist would have the wherewithal to create a video matching the vehicle shown in the other video, matching the car park and location of the vehicle and the extinguisher, all just to pick a random diesel model of the right make and publicize the plate number of that model. It does not seem probable to me.

I think the best strategy is not to take the video as weak-ass evidence for the coverup nor evidence for the identification of the vehicle -- since we don't really need to know what vehicle it was because we know that the investigators say the vehicle in question is a diesel ICE. Rather, the second video is simply irrelevant to the whole shebang.

Sorry, I am not sure our US, Aussie, Canuk and Kiwi friends understand how British politics work. Parliament is a gentleman's club and any errant MP is 'investigated' by another member or 'Select Committee' made up of same. Just look up the VIP fast lane scandal or google Mone and Barrowman, for examples. The only reason owing to 'Partygate', Boris Johnson and Sunak (plus re not wearing a seat belt in a political broadcast in a car) received a Fixed Penalty Notice was as a result of a lengthy investigation by fellow MP Sue Gray, who then advised the Met Police to do its thing, which it VERY reluctantly did a couple of years later.

Piffle

1. the PM embargoing information is not a 'criminal conspiracy' as it within his remit to do so.

Claptrap

2. the PM hiding his business interests on the Ministerial Register as 'blind' is within the rules, so again, not a crime or a breach of rules.

Garbage

3. none of this adds up to 'corruption', more a cynical taking advantage of the rules of the Gentleman's Club, in which Old Etonians and Wykehamists are considered to be inherently honourable and decent, old chap.

Bollocks

You are quite simply wrong on all of this

Using ministerial powers for personal gain is corruption. It is a criminal offense. In accusing Sunak of using his ministerial power to silence the press and the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service in order to keep secret a fact that, if revealed, could harm him financially, you are accusing him of committing a criminal offense. There is no way, other than lying and misrepresenting facts the way you are, that this can be spun as anything other than a criminal offence.

Whether you like it or not, YOU HAVE outlined a theory in which Sunak, the media and the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service have colluded to hide certain facts from the public. What you have described is a conspiracy theory, and YOU ARE promoting it here.

There is no wiggle room for you.
You have outlined a conspiracy theory.
You are promoting that conspiracy theory.
You are a conspiracy theorist!
You are the only one here who doesn't recognize this fact, everyone else here does.

I just spent a few minutes looking through news reports regarding several recent traffic accidents in my county. One mentioned a "2020 Volvo SUV" but none of the others mentioned year/make/model at all. One typical entry read, "troopers stated that an SUV was attempting to turn left onto Scottswood Road from Old Spartanburg Road when they hit an oncoming car. The oncoming car then continued forward and crashed into a sedan". No mention of any of the specific vehicles, despite the driver of the sedan having lost his life.

Not remotely plausible. If Sunak declared he was obliged in the public interest to gag the newspapers and to force the fire service to lie about one car fire, when car fires happen every day and a proportion of them are EVs, nobody is going to buy that for a second. Much like nobody buys your conspiracy theory.

All of which is probably moot.

I know the British Press well enough to know that, even if he tried to embargo them on an issue such as this, papers like the Daily Mail, the Guardian and the Daily Mirror would just tell him to ****-off and publish anyway.

I am pretty sure most fire services would do the same.
