Merged Protests disrupt college campuses / Campus Protests

It's worth a look at the players here too. Kids who worked straight out school in blue collar jobs or service jobs have few fantasy ideals about the world. It's a tough place and winning is hard.

Not neccisserily. Also, a lot of the kids I went to colelge with were working to pay for it.

College grads as well as college students postpone the reality kick to the head early on and spend years getting spoonfed fantastic ideals of what could be or what thier professor might want to be a reality despite the big outside world not working like that.

The big outside world doesn't work the way FOX news spews to cul-du-sac dwelling suburbanites who think Olive Garden is ethnic food.

What gives you the world view to decide what is "reality" for people? I guarentee, yours is very different from the people in Gaza and Israel.

Come a war and OMG people, innocent people, are getting dead as collateral damage to two powerful groups trying to kill each other. Never mind one is actively using them as a human shield.

And the other doesn't seem to give a ****.

The blue collar kid has a better understanding of taking losses out of personal experience,

Speaking as someone who grew up i na blue colar neighborhood, no, they do not. They know what happens in their narrow little world. And the idea that a plumber or painter can't elarn empathy for another human being is patronizing at best.

the college kids latch on to a stupidly simple concept that them protesting on campus in CA will somehow affect two warring factions in the middle east that are currently burying family and friends to prove whom is right.

No, they want the universities they attend to divest from companies profiting for the fighting.

They think they can change the opinions of top government agencies that chose to support one side or the other. Maybe they can, most times it fails miserably.

Often because most of us don't pay attentio nor pretend like we give agoddman about the univeristy library.

Meanwhile parts of a campus are getting smashed up, the educational process of the college is disrupted and parents are still paying tuition for Jr to show his support for terrorists putting babies up as a human shield.

If youy think tha this bad, wait until you learn some of the **** our tax dollars have paid for.

Hint, for right or wrong the government has much better Intel on what's going on there than Billy and Jane on the campus. They act on interests of a greater scale of worldwide risk in many cases. Yeah, somebody is gonna die in the crossfire meanwhile. It's impossible to save everyone.

How did this work out in Vietnam, Chile, Iraq, El Salvador etc?

Most times Billy and Jane benefit far more from the actions of thier government long term than what the cause the cut classes for would ever do for them.

And we can all benefit from showing more humanity

No, hence the moral right, nay obligation, to cause monetary harm to those in a position of responsibility and power to fix the issue being protested against/for.

A better defense of the January 6th protestors would be difficult to imagine.

Mainly becuase people who defend the Janaury 6th Insurrectio naren't known for their mental capabilities.

We had this already.

Jan 6th was no protest and it wasn't non-violent.

So no, this has nothing to do with the actual damage argument about using threat of or actual property damage to achieve protest goals.

The difference is that you (and I) disapprove of 1/6. Nothing more. Stop trying to squirm out of it.

It wasn't a protest with protest goals? Laughable. And you have been saying throughout the thread that non-violence is a silly requirement:

It is funny how it is only one side that has to be 100% peaceful.

It's downright bizarre that protests need to be not only non-violent, but also 100% with no damage to property.

"less likely" aka, "when can use force against them whenever we want".

You are admitting that one side gets to use violence and the other might or might not be the victim of violence if they are deemed 1000% peaceful by those willing to use violence against them.

No, hence the moral right, nay obligation, to cause monetary harm to those in a position of responsibility and power to fix the issue being protested against/for. This is rarely the cops, though burning down an empty Police Station is widely accepted as an appropriated reaction to police violence.

You don't fight fire with fire, you do it by being smart and make sure that the fire burns whatever the people in charge of the fire department hold most dear.

Probably their families, but hey, what's a little violence against the person when the clarion call goes out the the proletariatcoddled college students to perpetuate the class war on behalf of the pathetic remnants of the communist propaganda machine.

The efforts being made to misunderstand me are astounding,

RE: Jan 6th.

it was NOT a protest, it was an attempt to stop, by force, a necessary step in the lawful transfer of power. It was a direct attack on US democracy itself.

Now, if the crowd had camped on the lawn of Congress, and mentioned that, at as soon as the building was empty, they would find a way to get in and take a dump on the desk of everyone who refused to go along with the Fake Elector scheme, that could be seen as a protest of sorts.

The weird thing is that NONE OF YOU have a problem with property damage that is caused by what YOU consider to be peaceful. a protest that blocks a busy street can cause millions in damage, and none of you blinks an eye.

but break a single window, and suddenly the protest is illegitimate.

Meanwhile, cops can absolutely use force to break up a peaceful protest, but that is okay, because it's your team doing the violence.

how motivated are you in your fake reasoning?

sheesh

Its not your window.

So your answer is yes. You support destruction of property and vandalism as long as you agree with their protest agenda.

Gotcha.

You just gave fans of Jan 6ers a ton of ammo.

The morons defending January 6th will use any excuse. They didn't like the outcome of the eelciton so they wen to DC with the itnent of stopping the democratic process and MURDERING MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.

You are free to believe destroying property is worse than a US ally using US weapons and support to bomb, shoot and starve innoncet men, women, and children. Some of us disagree with that notion.
