Cont: Luton Airport Car Park Fire III

Remember, there has been a more recent press release that says, "The vehicle involved was diesel-powered – it was not a mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric vehicle."

Do you think that statement was true?

That gets ignored because it's inconvenient for the performance.

Sunak has regular meetings with key personnel, including the security agencies, together with a whole team of special advisers. That doesn't mean he doesn't also have personal interests because one's spouse does not count. Sunak sold his Infosys shares to his wife, so now he is free to give Infosys a huge contract, yet remain completely innocent of breaking the ministerial code, which requires declaration of interests and conflicts of interest.

So it is quite possible he or his wife being close acquaintances with Mr. Tata to consciously or unconsciously want to protect the Tata JLR brand. The way around it IMV is to declare the name, model and make of the vehicles that started the Luton fire.

UK Ministerial Code, Chapter 7, Sections 7.1-7.4:

7. Ministers’ private interests

General principle

7.1 Ministers must ensure that no conflict arises, or could reasonably be perceived to arise, between their public duties and their private interests, financial or otherwise.

Responsibility for avoiding a conflict

7.2 It is the personal responsibility of each Minister to decide whether and what action is needed to avoid a conflict or the perception of a conflict, taking account of advice received from their Permanent Secretary and the Independent Adviser on Ministers’ interests.

Procedure

7.3 On appointment to each new office, Ministers must provide their Permanent Secretary with a full list in writing of all interests which might be thought to give rise to a conflict. The list should also cover interests of the Minister’s spouse or partner and close family which might be thought to give rise to a conflict.

7.4 Where appropriate, the Minister will meet the Permanent Secretary and the Independent Adviser on Ministers’ interests to agree action on the handling of interests. Ministers must record in writing what action has been taken, and provide the Permanent Secretary and the Independent Adviser on Ministers’ interests with a copy of that record.

Muck and brass was not equated to working hard. The northern slagheaps - which were dug out of muck - were equated with wealth for the wealthy, not the hard workers.

Avoiding the question which was about your suggestion ordinary people did not use coins when the saying "Where there's much there's brass" arose.

Brass is of course a reference to copper coins which were introduced to England in the 1600s. A quick Google suggests a skilled labourer might earn 8 to 12 pence per day, and the smallest denomination was the farthing (originally a quarter of a cut-up penny but by this stage a coin in its own right). The idea that England was a nation of Baldrics saving up their turnips to try to get enough to have a penny of their very own is not reality.

I wouldn't mind if we let a few of these discussions on etymology just die out. Doesn't really seem all that relevant.

I for one am happy to join a group effort, to hold Vixen to whichever important question she seems to be most assiduously avoiding. I vote for the embargo order, but I believe Mark Corrigan might have a prior claim.

In conclusion, show us the embargo order, Vixen.

Well, obviously, there's also an embargo on the embargo order.

So Vixen should show us that one.

What is the point in repeating the same sentence over and over again?

"Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking." ~ Steve Jobs.

If only he had listened to the dogma of evidence based medicine he might not have died by other people's thinking.

Mr. Sunak has done everything by the book. If he is allowed to make his business interests blind then he is not committing any wrongdoing in doing so.

Mr. Sunak's wife is not governed by the same ministerial rules as he is so she is allowed to make huge profits out of Infosys and other business interests as a direct result of her husband's own policies put through Parliament.

What is needed is a good investigative journalist to bring all of this out and find out what the issue is with JLR vehicles and the connection with the two car park fires. Likewise, the fire at Bristol and the one at Gatwick North Terminal - said to be 'accidental ignitions' and rumoured to be EV-caused fires, yet never revealed to the public.

But what could a good investigative journalist do, according to you they are not allowed to report anything because of an "embargo".

Show us the embargo order.

Specifically, show us the embargo order to Beds Fire, requiring them to not merely withhold the correct information, but actually supply false information instead.

Well, obviously, there's also an embargo on the embargo order.

So Vixen should show us that one.

Which is why we shouldn't ask to see the source of her claim.

She can't, because she's six steps ahead of the embargo order.

Column B Row 4: Claims Govt is Muzzling Media

Column B Row 1: Presents opinions as facts

Column B Row 2: Ignores awkward posts

Column I Row 4: Dodges hard questions

Column G Row 5: Claims "they" are hiding the truth

Column O Row 1: Rejects official story

The problem with column O row 1 is that implies an unofficial story as opposed to something that lacks the coherence to be *a* story.

This is very simple. Find a single newspaper or broadcaster that confirms from official sources the make and model of the vehicle involved.

Can't find anything?

There's your press embargo.
