It's also been pointed out that if Sunak really were so keen to get the bill through he could have pushed to complete the back and forth with the Lords before they went on their three week break.

It seems crazy now and something that would only happen in a corrupt state under a despotic dictator. However there are lots of things I have seen recently like the attempt to sideline the judiciary, the clamp down on protests, restrictions making it harder to vote etc that makes me think that fixing elections 'for the good of the country' is not as far fetched as it once seemed.

Well they are very busy at the moment, trying to prosecute someone from holding a sign about a fundamental right: https://www.theguardian.com/environ...mate-activist-trudi-warner-sign-jurors-rights

I'm still scratching my head as to how informing a jury of their actual legal rights can be considered to trying to influence them. By that sort of metric, shirley providing a jury with yer acksherall evidence is trying to influence them?

I am not a lawyer, nor have I ever played one on TV.

Disappointed the enemies of the state refused to bang her up after that disgracefully behaviour. Still if things go out way we can have her on a plane to Rwanda first thing in the morning.

 she's the new Home Secretary? I mean that's all we've managed to fly out to Rwanda.

Or the "We Held An Election And We Won Act 2024"

How about the "We Haven't Completely ****** The Country Over The Last Decade And A Half Bill (2024)" including the "We're Not Thieving Bastards Only Interested In Lining Our Own Pockets" amendment (Sunak) and a childish drawing of Liz Truss rendered in half eaten crayon (Gullis)? The "Stop Sniggling At Me, You're Not My Mates Anymore Bill (Andersen Anderson) may be attached.

The Minister for Common Sense will hold a St George's Day celebration in Downing Street today says Rishi Sunak's spokesperson.

It seems Rishi has decided to govern by holding a press briefing every day to promise things that will happen after Keir Starmer beats him in a General Election.

Who is the minister for nonsense these days?

It's known as collective responsibility:

None of the watchdogs are fit for purpose*. The Tory plan is to deregulate, promising oversight, but then to declaw, defund, and stuff the watchdogs with cronies.

*As defined by me, YMMV
