It's almost like he doesn't know his arse from his elbow or else he is deliberately trying to punish folk for being disabled or both.

Either way he comes across as both stupid and vindictive.

Or this was intended to do nothing more than generate a few favorable headlines in the Daily Mail/Daily Express. Problem is that any who reads those rags is either already going to vote Tory or has defected to Reform.
 
Another one bites the dust.

The MP for Fylde announced that he would not stand at the next election after the allegations were referred to Lancashire police.

The Conservative party said that an internal investigation could not conclude there had been a misuse of party funds. However, it said that Menzies had demonstrated a “pattern of behaviour” that fell below the standards expected of MP.

In a statement, he said: “It has been an enormous privilege representing the people of Fylde since 2010, but due to the pressures on myself and my elderly mother, I have decided to resign from the Conservative party and will not stand at the forthcoming general election.

My money would be on appointed, as this article seems to confirm

There was no public vote to make him Prime Minister and, back in the 1990s, Winchester’s Head Boy was anointed by the Head Man. I’ve asked former pupils what the position involved, but most have only vague memories of a ceremonial function, often involving Latin. No one remembers clearly what these Head Boys did (there were two of them, which Sunak has never managed to mention) and they tended to be ‘anonymous’.

Unless it's referred to the Parliamentary Standards Commission the point is moot. The electorate have no right to recall an MP unless other MPs have already judged them.

ETA: Ninja'd by CFK, like him I couldn't remember how many days suspension were required. I think it's ten working days but I'm not sure. However there are several Tory MPs who, should they require suspending for ten days, I'll volunteer to help build the gibbet.

Quite frankly I don't see the need for flights.

If the UK parliament can rule that Rwanda is safe why can't they rule that the flights have been happening for several years and that the small boats have all stopped crossing the channel?

It seems crazy now and something that would only happen in a corrupt state under a despotic dictator. However there are lots of things I have seen recently like the attempt to sideline the judiciary, the clamp down on protests, restrictions making it harder to vote etc that makes me think that fixing elections 'for the good of the country' is not as far fetched as it once seemed.

Don't be surprised to see Rishi wearing a military uniform next and calling himself 'General'.

Perhaps abolishing democracy, the judiciary and the monarchy all together and making his role a hereditary one.

All these bloody unelected civil servants, peers and judges standing in his way.
