Personally, I would accept him selling all of the Catholic Church's belongings and using the money to help the poor.

Actually, I think there are people who have those sort of delusions about Pope Francis. A couple of friends/relatives on Facebook have shared transcripts of his speeches as if they contain immutable truths.

There's a common misconception that the idea that the Pope is infallible applies to everything that proceeds from his mouth, rather than exclusively to Ex Cathedra statements about Catholic doctrine.

Yes, when I see such beliefs being expressed, it’s like being suddenly hijacked by a time-machine back to the dark ages, but then I sadly remember how religion still persists widely.

Being the number one representative for the all powerful, all knowing, all present god, doesn't bring any perks like longer life, miraculous healing, or healthier life.

I think the popes need a stronger union, clearly negotiations with their employer haven't gone very well.

I think the pontiff should be expected to step down at 80.
