The Tories have been running a ‘Go Left’ campaign? I mean literally, rather than the obvious figuratively.

Yeah, it was aimed at people who didn't know not to stop in the outside lane if their car broke down on the motorway. They have to protect the terminally stupid, no-one else will vote vote for them.

Shockingly enough, it turns out that the Tories are breaking the rules yet again. This time it relates to their appearances on GB News.

Five episodes of GB News programmes hosted by serving Tory MPs have been found to have broken broadcasting rules by media regulator Ofcom.

They include two episodes of Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg's State of the Nation, and three of shows fronted by married MPs Esther McVey and Philip Davies.

Politicians are not normally allowed to host news programmes under Ofcom rules, but can present current affair shows.

You have to almost admire the chutzpah that let's GBeebies describe members of the ruling party as "alternate voices", or is it brazen shamelessness. I always get them mixed up.

If you live in an alternate reality you provide "alternate voices".

In the case of news, where most outlets are relying on objective facts, GB News in order to portray Brexit, the economy and the Conservative parties as successful need to rely on "alternate voices" delivering "alternate facts".

Looks increasingly like we'll be getting yet another Conservative Prime Minister with Penny Mourdant (who has been a failed candidate on two occasions already) as the front runner.

At least her previous career performing repeated, painful belly flops in full public view provides her suitable experience for leading this government.

We are as ever following in the USA's footsteps - every accusation is a confession.

Anyway I've heard Sunak saying they need to stick to the plan. Which is of course feathering their beds as quickly as possible, getting those directorships lined up, government contracts etc.

Police Scotland’s officers are being told they should target actors and comedians under Scotland’s new hate crime laws.

Training, obtained by The Herald, states that material regarded as “threatening and abusive” under the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) can be communicated “through public performance of a play.”

Reading through play scripts in search of offence, raiding comedy clubs and dive bars to shut down dissent , this is the stuff of every authoritarian government that has ever existed.

Oh, FFS!

Leader of a very right wing party doesn't like being called "far right"? **** off, Richard! And take Lee Anderson with you.

You look like a duck, you make noises like a duck, you hang around with other ducks, you hate orange sauce...Don't try to tell me you are a coot, just 'cos you paddle around on water.

Just own it.

As someone on Twitter said, it's not a far right political party, it's a far right political company

Paywalled - can you explain what point you are trying to make with that link?

It seems to be about Liz Truss appearing at that RW event where she nodded along to Yaxley-Lennon being called a hero, called for the democratically elected leader of an allied country to be deposed and blamed everyone else for her failures because the entire British Establishment from the Bank of England down is woke lefties.

However I think the complaint isn't about her behaviour but the fact it's been reported.
