Except that the train companies keep tabs on train lateness. So if a particular train was 100% late from the outset then it is clear it is a timetable error and not a case of the train being always late, when it never did once turn up at the stated time.

LMAO. Getting increasingly funnier and more embarrassing....

And off down another rabbit hole in search of mulberry bushes we go.

Sod it: I have a wall to stare at; or a conversation with my tomcat, either of which are more productive and make more sense.

Then I will be roasting a piece of venison haunch and serving it with a natty Yarra Valley pinot noir, while playing Slint's very excellent Spiderland at appropriately anti-social volume.

He did indeed anticipate so many of your posts as such. Spooky.

Hey man I'm just here for amusement. It's just another garden variety conspiracy thread being futilely extended by a single poster. The facts of the issue are well known and posted here. Any useful discussion was proved futile ages ago. Fury is the last description I would apply to my approach here. But by all means you carry on viewing Vixen's posts, and mine, just as seriously as you like. But watch that blood pressure.

Please see my post #1579 above, which explains that I wrongly thought that your post had been posted by Vixen - so I thought I was replying to Vixen. I apologise again to you for mistakenly putting you in my firing line!

You and Humpty Dumpty are never wrong, you're just nuanced and subtle.

No. You were just wrong about the meaning of the word "invariably". Jumping through hoops to try to find a way to look less wrong is a curious spectacle but it doesn't change the basic fact.

Sorry about the confusion but when people say their train is invariably late in my world they mean 'often' or 'usually' late. Likewise, when I said people in the Civil Service invariably signed the Official Secrets Act, I was acknowledging that some might not. At the time I wrote it I assumed it was true of all Civil Service employees but it seems I am mistaken about that.

According to the Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service:

At this time, we can confirm the vehicle involved was a diesel-powered vehicle. To further clarify it was neither a fully electric vehicle (EV) nor a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

According to Vixen:

That is a truly stupid misinterpretation of what the Fire & Rescue Service wrote in plain English.

It was a diesel-powered vehicle. The Fire & Rescue Service went on to say it was neither of the things being alleged by a small cadre of loony conspiracy theorists. Explicitly refuting those two specific things is not at all the same as confirming yet another form of loony conspiracy theory.

In Vixen-world, radical failures of English comprehension count as "more nuanced and subtle" than the ordinary meanings of simple sentences written in plain English.

Exactly. They have now amended this to say it wasn't a full EV or a plug-in EV, in anticipating the full report out soon. They have to say this to preclude the scandal of their having been less than frank the first time round. (=lying by omission.)

I wouldn't mind betting they keep up this phrase throughout the report to avoid giving the model name, make and year and whether it was a mild hybrid.

Re my post #1548 (as above)

I'd erroneously thought that I was replying to a post of Vixen's when in fact it was a post of Steve's (Vixen's and Steve's profile pictures look similar at a glance....)

I in no way intended to malign you, Steve. Apologies for the confusion!

(I am now outside the edit window for that post - hence this post by way of explanation and apology)

Okay to treat me with disrespect though, eh?

No.

You're simply being caught again and again making stuff up. Your typical backpedal is to say, "Well, that's the way it is in my experience," and then you fabricate another homespun story to create color for that claim.

No one "signs the Official Secrets Act." This is something you made up because you thought it sounded official and scary, thought it would help your case, and thought no one would be able to credibly dispute you.

In the MS Estonia thread. Your evasion on that point has been discussed many times previously, and is within the memory of everyone posting in this thread. Perhaps your memory is not as keen as you claim.

That's ironically how we caught you. You were making claims that didn't fit the facts of how physics is taught.

Please stop spreading lies about me and falsely accusing me of wrongdoing. I have never lied about my qualifications or background, or my experiences. Just because you prefer to believe a mischief maker who thinks it fun to wind me up for sport by calling me a liar, doesn't make it true. I know it is fun and a great laugh to tease a targetted person but please think about the morality of it and whether you would like it.

And you also confirm you are mistaken about employees of the fire services and the NHS "invariably" being bound by the Official Secrets Act (when in fact virtually none of those tens of thousands of employees will ever have been notified that their work falls under the ambit of the Act)?

I'll take that bet. Willingly. £1000 at evens odds?

Well, there's your problem.

Please stop spreading lies about me and falsely accusing me of wrongdoing.

You are not being falsely accused.

I have never lied about my qualifications or background, or my experiences.

Examples provided.

As long as you keep raising your alleged professional and academic experiences as premises to an argument, I will continue to challenge them.

Perhaps stop pretending to be things you aren't, and all your troubles will vanish.

I signed it. I was given a document to sign that specifically said I was bound by the Official Secrets Act. This was a document quite separate from any other document and specific to the Official Secrets Act.

If you do not believe it that is your prerogative. However, I suspect it is is just more ad hominem because you are unable to debate the topic under the usual terms of debate.

Sorry if anything sticks in your craw but facts cannot be changed to make the world a sweeter place. If you are uncomfortable perhaps the problem lies with you and not me.

The problem is that you made this up in an attempt to impress others and elevate your nondescript job to "exciting" levels. You're lying. Just drop it please.
