Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act

Nope! Capitalism is actually so fabulous that it's highly attractive even without tax breaks.

...and yet...

Black markets emerge even in communist societies,

They emerge in all societies, irrespective of what they call their financial system.

where not only are there no tax breaks, but private property and capital investment are frowned upon and even criminalized.

Any shortage, whether it is due to there being a real shortage are an artificial one, creates a black market.

Tax breaks are an attempt by liberal governments to use market forces to encourage investment in things that would otherwise seem unattractive to people with capital.

That is a mark against capitalism and tax breaks.

Tax breaks are, in fact, a testament to the attractiveness of capitalism.

Because... capitalists need artificial incentives to invest in the common good?
If socialism were as attractive a capitalism, people with capital wouldn't need tax breaks, to invest in things the government wants investment in. They'd happily pay the higher taxes, as a way of investing in government programs.

Who gives a damn? This isn't about them, it is about the common good. If building roads so people can get to work just doesn't have a good enough ROI for them, too bad.

What if we had a society that wasn't willing to let the majority suffer to build up a handful of people whose simple defining attribute is having a disproportionate amount of the wealth we all create? What if we dumped Death Cult Capitalism for something that benefits all of us before it makes the rich richer?

Socialism is attractive to a lot of people, of course, mostly the further away from home it is. The closer the government gets to you personally being required to give according to your ability and receive according to your need, the more you come to terms with your love of private property and the freedom to invest your capital how you - not your government - sees fit.

Asserting your own selfishness to others is a fallacy. Far too many folks think they have more to give than they have need.

If you lower all the taxes, how does the government pay for everything from infrastructure, the military and the needy?

Do you really think our government prudently and efficently spends the tax money it already takes in? Why should we have to pay higher taxes because our government is inefficent and incompetent?

Duh, our lords will so graciously bestow their charity upon us. For certain concessions, of course.

Strange question. If its our government that is inefficient and incompetent then its our responsibility to pay for it.

Or not pay and make them more efficent. Businesses have to do to this all the time. Why not goverment?

Despite the nonsense we've been fed for close to 50 years, the federal government isn't that bad at it. It turns out the "waste preventing" measures cause more inefficiencies. Government agencies tend to be staffed by people who believe in what they are doing and want to get the job done. Kind of like the "efficiency experts" and "productivity monitors" employed by corporations.

Because the government is less inefficient and incompetent than the typical corporation? Because a profit-based motivation doesn't necessarily mean the objective is to do the job well?

Explain California.

The fifth largest economy in the world? What is to explain?

And I noticed you can't defend the massive failure of Brounback's tax cuts in Kansas.

Make them more efficient (by voting in better people or something?) then lower taxes, cool.

Lower taxes, hoping that then they are forced to get more efficient ... that just means in the meantime roads, education, ... all the stuff we need Governments to do, falls over.

(Edit: switch health for education, forgot locale.)

If you cut half of federal jobs, would anyone notice?

Nah, unlike a business, there is no consequence when the government is inefficent or makes a mistake.

tax to death? Hyperbole much? Strange how it just keeps making money. It's almost like deficits are a political talking point more than an actual economic concern.

Are you a "sovereign citizen" movement supporter? Are you saying the government cannot compel someone to pay taxes?

Businesses have to do what all the time... borrow money??

No, I am not a "soverign citizen." But as a voter you can choose a candidate who will waste your income or one who let you keep most of your pay. And businesses have to adjust for revenue. Is that somehow new to you?

Like Florida. They don't have roads down there. Just mud pathways.

Not a concern? LOL, so Newsom can cut, and cut, and cut, and no political constituency will be upset?

Please, tax me more!
