It seems that Lee Anderson didn’t even vote against the bill he resigned over.
Apparently he went in the No lobby and some Labour MPs took the piss out of him so he bottled it and ran away.

Brendan Clark Smith, who also resigned over the bill actually voted for it!

This should be the end for Lee Anderson. He’s shown himself for exactly what he is and always was. A spineless and cowardly political chancer. No morals. No integrity. No principles. A repugnant leech.

Gone at the General Election.

Good riddance.

Lee actually said on the news

""I went into the No Lobby but Labour were laughing at me, so I walked out and abstained. From now on, Rishi Sunak has my full support"

I suspect Sunak won't need it for very long

One highlight from last night was Therese Coffey taking the piss out of Yvette Cooper and “correcting” her saying she got the name of the country wrong when she said Kigali instead of Rwanda.

Well she was right. The country is called Rwanda. Kigali is the name of the capital...

... oh wait.

Sell them to royalists, if they're smart.

Having said that, I can remember the picture of the 'young queen' from primary school, and must admit that I wouldn't mind having that picture on my wall somewhere...

:D

She did scrub up well. Photos of her in situations where she couldn't be touched up, on the other hand...

Tata Steel to close its blast furnaces and make 3,000 of its 4,000 workers redundant in Port Talbot.

Tory govt is giving Tata £500 million for 'investment'.

Once British Steel's Scunthorpe plant also closes blast furnaces the UK will be the only G20 country not able to make it's own steel from raw materials.

So TATA gets the money to invest in a new arc furnace, what exactly happens if they decide its not economic a few years down the line? Are there any penalties for them if they do so? of course not.

Surely not, Leenoch never abandons his principals

I think that depends on who provides their IT services & whether there's been an election.

There is a plan to use hydrogen at Scunthorpe, meaning they should be able to make steel from raw material.

Also, I suspect many will find work in nuclear construction in the coming years.

Two areas where there will be a demand for engineers, as the systems are built.

Just as it kicks off in the Gulf, the Royal Navy is unable to put the aircraft carriers to sea due to crewing shortages and delays with outsourced routine maintenance.
In addition for the first time ever, no RFA support ships are at sea due to similar crewing and maintenance problems.
That means the ships that are there will have to return to the UK to resupply. Lets hope they don't have to sail around too much or fire any weapons.
I suppose the crews can live on reduced rations for a while.

5th largest military budget in the world.

Who remembers when Nigel said "If we vote to Remain on June 23rd it is the end of the steel industry in this country. Simple as that. We must Leave EU."

How's that working out Nige?

Where is the hydrogen supposed to come from?
