General Israel/Palestine discussion thread - Part 4

Let us know when marriage and divorce and public transportation isn't completely under the control of Sky God worshippers.

Marriage (and divorce) is left under the control of clerics (Islam, Christianity, Coptsic, Bah'ais, Druze, Judaism, Circassian, etc. all hold true to their religious marriage rituals). The reason for that is the clerics prefer it this way and don't want to relinquish their centuries-old traditions, and Israel's government gives sway to those religious authorities, of ALL faiths. It's not a uniquely Jewish thing, but rather, respect for the customs that've been handed down for generations, from time immemorial.

Public Transportation is just left alone on Sabbath (shabbat) because of a status-quo agreement dating back to before the formation of the state, whereby the Orthodox/Haredi representatives in Eretz Yisroel asked that their sensibilities of honoring the Ten Commandments be implemented to retain a "Jewish Character" on the day of rest, even within the secular society.

The last thing you should be worried about is how our secular society still manages to implement protocols to accommodate SkyGod worshippers across the spectrum of religious practices.

When the abused grow up to be abusers

This image expresses a sordid fact about the wretched humans' miserable existence.

The abused more often than not grow up to be abusers themselves.

So you admit its not a secular country.

In Israel it is impossible for a Jew to marry a Muslim, a Christian to marry a Bahai.

This is unacceptable.

The Schizophrenia Of Israeli Zionists

our secular society still manages to implement protocols to accommodate SkyGod worshippers across the spectrum of religious practices.

And therein lies the INSANITY and schizophrenic nature of Israel's settler colonialists.

¿Secular? but yet they finance using USA Billion$$$ the hideously racist religious zealotry of Aliyah for Indians and Ukrainians and Russians and Ethiopians and Americans and British and French and Germans and all sorts of RELIGIOUS NUTS from around the world

To

Displace and occupy as Settler Colonialists the lands wrenched away from its autochthonous owners who are ethnically cleansed and confined in concentration camps to keep them away from the sensibilities of the ¿secular?:eek::eye-poppi:covereyes Settler Colonialists.

Why...

Because they worship the sky delusions of a mythical Sumerian Pimp... who in the fairy tale about him, he is said to have been given the orders to genocide and ethnically cleanse the inhabitants of Palestine by his sky daddy delusions.

A dream that started with Abraham, continued with Moses, and flourished through Herzl in the modern era continued today as two hundred and thirty people departed on a charter flight from New York’s JFK airport to Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. Through Jewish National Fund-USA’s affiliate, Nefesh B’Nefesh, these modern-day pioneers are set to actualize the dream of returning home, something yearned for by previous generations for 2,000 years.

So you admit its not a secular country.

In Israel it is impossible for a Jew to marry a Muslim, a Christian to marry a Bahai.

This is unacceptable.

Unacceptable to who? The followers (and their clerics) of those religions want it that way.
Who are you to dictate what their preferences are?

As for a 'secular country' -- all you need to do is take a stroll around Tel Aviv on a Shabbat and be awed.

Unacceptable to who?....

Anyone who believes in human freedom.

Free societies do not tell people that they cannot marry someone of a different faith. Nor do they allow religious authorities to govern divorce. Sounds like Iran and the Taliban.

Well, you can start with Iran and work across the entire MidEast and North Africa, and working as hard as you can, manage to convince them to abandon their theocracies, their non-secular Nations, their rudimentary lack of freedoms.
This is not Canada, sparky. Israel is a MidEast country, very conservative, very traditional, very much tribal. "Human Freedom" cuts both ways, when the humans want to be 'free' from secular coercion and left to practice religion as they see fit.

By the way, in Israel, there are ways to bypass the clerics, and those Israelis who wish to avoid a traditional ceremony officiated by rabbis or imams or priests, can find work-arounds.
It's relatively few who choose that route.

So you want to be "free" to force people to abide by bigoted, backwards, ignorant religious doctrine? Is that what my tax dollars are paying for?

I want my money back! Nations that lie about having "shared values" with the USA don't deserve our money.

Coming from someone whose national motto is “In God we Trust” and the idea of a non-Christian president is unthinkable. Laughable.

Israel is not the USA.
Neither is Egypt. You can ask them for a refund as well, whydon'tcha?

Your tax dollars have nothing to do with how we arrange our society to accommodate and please the desires of a vast majority of all religous persuasions represented here in Israel. Your governments' generosity and financial support is unrelated to this subject.

Yeah, the USA is a theocracy cuz of the silly motto on our money.

LOL!!

Bro, when it comes to human freedom, there is simply no comparison between the USA and Israel. You guys are in the 5th century compared to us.

Doesn't that violate the Constitutional imperative of Separation of Church and State?

The people at the Supernova Music Festival on Oct 7th were certainly making their own effort to spread the word about celebrating "friends, love and infinite freedom"

It just didn't work out. Oh Well, maybe next time.

What are you talking about... you know that there are laws that PREVENT marriage in Israel unless it is a religious marriage... and interfaith is NOT allowed... one has to convert to the other's insanity.

Also Marriage to certain peoples is not allowed by the government... e.g. an Israeli is not allowed to marry a person from the West Bank... so if a Palestinian Israeli wanted to marry a person from over the wall of the concentration camp even of the same faith... he is not allowed to bring her to Israel to be with him until the GOVERNMENT makes him go through hell and perhaps never.

Have a read here.

In Israel, marriage can be performed only under the auspices of the religious community to which couples belong, and inter-faith marriages performed within the country are not legally recognized....

...Matrimonial law is ... had been employed in the Ottoman Empire, including what is now Israel, ... and remains in force in the State of Israel.

...The Israeli Interior Ministry registers marriages on presentation of the required documentation. Israel's religious authorities — the only entities authorized to perform weddings in Israel — are not permitted to marry couples where both partners do not have the same religion;

...the only way for people of different (or no) faith to marry is by converting to the same religion. However, civil, interfaith, and same-sex marriages entered into abroad are recognized by the state;...

Under the Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law, the right of a spouse of an Israeli citizen to automatic Israeli citizenship is dependent on the country or territory of the spouse; it is not automatic for West Bank residents or citizens of certain Muslim-majority countries....

Yes... Israel is a wonderful place... if you do not care to look at the concentration camps.

And they have free education and health care and subsidized housing and excellent retirement plans.

All paid for and financed by the BILION$$$$ given to Israel by the USA (and other countries) on a yearly bases... and at the expense of the tax payers who have NONE of that and while the congress is wrangling and vying for how to CUT OFF social security as meager as it is and Medicare for the old and school lunches for poor kids and to defund the EPA and the Education departments... and how to cut taxes on the filthy billionaires... they are scurrying and clambering over each other to vote yes to giving Israel more BILLION$$$.... in addition of course to the REGULAR billion$$$.

Well, the dead have been avenged ten times over, now haven't they.

Of course, you're incorrect, because a vibrant and free society existed in NorthAmerica in the 5th century.
The USA committed genocide upon them.

Israel however seems to be stuck there.
Yeah, I believe you. (not)
