Well, his family did, apparently:
A brother of Card told police he and his father tried to help Card and convinced him to let them change the code on Card’s gun safe for a period of time a few months before the mass shooting but that Card had a key to the safe and access to his firearms prior to the shootings.

and "the Army Reserves said Tuesday it barred Card from using weapons on duty in August."

Anytime you want to prove me wrong, that blacks commit most mass shootings, pick a day to start and we can do any 10 mass shootings in a row.

How about this, we've got a pretty decent start on identity of shooters of the 4 days going through to the end of the weekend on the post-Maine mass shooting, we can start their.

How about it? You game? Going to put your money where your mask is?
 
GVA added another mass shooting for the four day period following the Maine mass shooting.

4 wounded in Chula Vista, California. 3 random people chased 2 random people into a restaurant in a California mall. One person opened fire in the middle of the restaurant. The shooter was black.

It doesn't matter whether they are black, plaid, pink, white, yellow or bright neon green, it's the number of mass shootings/killings/sprees/polite-society-in-action that is your country's insanity.

True, but if you focus on race than the problem isn't guns, it's people of those races. Eliminate, or at least scapegoat them and there's no need to even worry about guns. :rolleyes:

Remember also that if guns were outlawed then Americans would simply kill 45,000 using swimming pools instead. :rolleyes:
 
The USA is now up to 23 mass shootings, killing 20 & injuring 106, since the mass shooting in Main, 9 days ago.

That is four times as many mass shootings in 9 days, that have happened in the UK since 1987 and Hungerford.

When I lived and worked in Boston one summer as a student, I was at four instances where guns were drawn or fired. If you exclude my time in the police, I have never been at a firearms incident in 58 years in the UK. I suspect it is the same for every other western country.

Do Americans realise just how off the scale their level of gun violence is?
 
According to this research, the average European fire arm homicide is 0.3 per 100000.
Most of it between criminals.

According to this site, there were some 21000 murders by firearms in 2021 in the US. (note, I'm omitting firearms related suicides in this)

If I have my math correct this would translate, with about 330 milion Americans, to about 6.3 firearms murders per 100000.
Which is 21 times as much as the average European level.

Australia's rate was 0.57 per 100000. But that was in 1966, the same year we abolished the death penalty. It is now roughly the same as your average number above for Europe. And that includes hard-core underworld shoot-outs and a bunch of known criminal families shooting up each others' houses, each. And no, guns are not banned in Australia. Far from it.

The gun murder rate in the U.S. remains below its peak level despite rising sharply during the pandemic. There were 6.7 gun murders per 100,000 people in 2021, below the 7.2 recorded in 1974.

Thanks.
I had taken the pure number of murders (and set it to 21000 for ease of calculating) and a quicky population number I found in wikipedia, and hoped the errors in these would be so minor that I would keep it to 2 numbers significant.
Alas. The real number apparently is even higher for the US than what I had calculated.

Actually according to the DOJ and Mother Jones, there have been no mass-shootings since the Maine Massacre.
