Cont: The Biden Presidency (4)

Biden v Trump would be an easy win for Biden. He's been a perfectly acceptable President, solid B+, while Trump's done nothing but encourage the leopards to eat their own face.

Biden vs Not-Trump is what's a bit more of a tossup, especially if the Democrats have already blown their advertising budget on "Not Trump!" signs. Thankfully Meatball (thanks, Trump!) has negative charisma and everyone else is a clown car of literal whos competing for VP.

Trump won in large parts because of 100% name recognition.
There is no Republican who can get even remotely close.
DeSantis managed to make a name for himself, but sometimes not publicity is better than bad publicity.

A small round up of Biden's actions last week

From the link -

-Announced a variety of actions to support home-buyers
-Announced the largest ever federal investment in strengthening the electric grid
-Got 2 more Judges confirmed and announced the nomination of 2 more
-Following pressure from Biden, Israel agreed to turn on water supply to southern Gaza
-Announced the appointment of a new “special envoy” to support humanitarian causes in the Middle East
-Spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the situation in Israel
-Traveled to Israel, his second trip in the middle of a war zone as President, which almost never happens, and met with prime minister Netanyahu
-Announced $100 million in humanitarian aid for Gaza and the West Bank
-Spoke again with President El-Sisi
-Spoke with President Zelenskyy on the situation in Ukraine
-Secured the release of the first two American hostages in Israel
-Brought together the US and EU to a joint summit to show unity for Israel, Ukraine, and more
-After securing a deal with Egypt and Israel to allow aid to enter Gaza, the first trucks made it across the border

That's a rather busy and productive week, I'd say.

Big deal! That's nothing compared to Trump being fined $5,000 for violating a gag order, Powell and Chesebro agreeing to testify against him in two different GA cases, Patrick Birney testifying Weisselberg told him that Trump wanted his financial worth inflated in the company financial records, and Chutkan issuing another gag order against him. it takes real talent to accomplish a week like that!

Wait! Food, water and humanitarian aid for Gaza!? What an anti-Semite!

Biden taking fire from the l eft over his support of Israel. Lots of 'He has lost my vote" comments.
These perople are morons, frankly, eving Trump open hatred of Muslims.(Except for rich Saudis).
And IMHO Representive Tlabi has cleary gone over the edge with her attacks on Biden. I usspect some Democrats would not minf seeing her gone from the House. Even her fellow squad members seem to be keeping their distance from her.

Unironically agree. It helps to have the **** flinging out in public where everyone can see it. "If Republicans won't vote for Republicans, why should you?" would make a great campaign ad.

Travelled to Israel? Why was that disaster prediction thread about that not updated?

On the other claw though, should the Arabs' genocide of the Jews who'd never been scattered in the early 1900s in order to claim the lands for Arabs only be rewarded by accepting the results?

Which genocide is this? It is well understood the Palestinians are mostly descended from those who stayedbin Iudaea after the second temple revolt in 130s CE, leavened with a small intermixture of Roman, Arab and Ottoman immigrants.

I'm rather tempted to answer this with an oversimplified answer. In both cases, he's siding against a terrorist state. Whatever legitimate grievances the Palestinians have, and they do have many, Hamas is quite in the wrong for the the outright terrorism that they've chosen to employ and celebrate, over and over, including against Palestinians and those who were seeking to aid them.

Also, there's real differences between collateral damage to civilians because a military is using them as shields in one way or another, i.e. what Israel's facing, and directly targeting civilians as strategy, which is what Hamas (and Russia) has done. To be clear, Israel's almost certainly committing war crimes on top of that, but Hamas' actions and tactics very much muddy the waters there.

I never realised that dualdb started calling out Israel for its decades of terrorism against Palestinians. When did this Damascene conversion occur?

Don't know much History, do you?

I have a message for America: Why did you pick Biden in 2020?
In the general election: he was the only way to block Trump.

In the primaries, when his opponents were other Democrats: the voters actually clearly wanted somebody else but were scared into settling for Biden instead because the party has been so successful at pushing its myth that the least electable people it can find are the most electable.

here come the Bernie Bros.
There is no vast hidden Left wing vote in the US.
I also note the hatred for centrists and moderates that is becoming so common in these Forums from the Left Wing Tea Party.

You are missing my point. If you voted for Biden once, it's not like you would have your pick of Democrats in 2024. The voters knew that.

Who is "you" in this post?

Biden has done and is doing an excellent job.

One problem Americans have is not recognizing what the oldest generation has to offer.
