Russell Brand accused of rape and sexual assault

Who could possibly argue with such a thorough independent well researched conclusion?

Yes, how dare people bring up old dirty laundry on such a nice young man? Dirty laundry should stay hidden out of respect for his fame.

I don't know if he's guilty or not and I'll wait to see how that unfolds when, and if, charges are laid. I watched him doing stand up many years ago and he was hilarious. Apart from that I never watched or kept up with any thing he did on telly or YT but did note that he'd dropped the political schtick.

I'm seeing a lot sentient thinking being admitted to here along the lines of, "I always thought he was X and Y and I'm saying that to suggest he's probably guilty".

There is a lot of that, yes, and anyone is innocent until proven guilty, but come on. Does anyone really think that he hasn't done the things that everyone is saying he's done?

Shows how we all need to be careful regarding relying on our own perceptions rather than the evidence; he didn't drop "the political schtick", he ratchetted it up and made that his main income stream. (The evidence for this is his videos on YT and other platforms.)

And since we aren't in a common law court there is nothing to stop us coming to our own conclusions about his innocence or guilt based on what we know.

You and Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson and probably ******* Milo Yiannopolous for all I know.

You should rectify that. Sean Lock was a British comedy genius, who sadly died last year.

Don't forget Rectum of the Year

He knew he'd won when he heard the judges throwing up behind him

In my defence I'm not relying on my own perceptions of Brand for anything at all. This Brand affair and this thread is an interesting aside and no more. I'm enjoying reading the many posts claiming prescience on this sceptics site.

I don't know if he's guilty or not. My knee jerk reaction, if you put a gun to my head, would only go as far as, "there's plenty smoke here and you know what the old saying says". I prefer to wait and see if charges are brought. If not then I'm pointing the finger at a malicious MSM.

My impression that he'd given up on the political schtick is purely based on reports of him presenting as a spirituality, wellness, healthy living and environment guru.

In the C4 (cough) documentary "Nadia's" actual voice is heard relating her experiences.

Her voice is very clear, obviously close miked and there is no ambient noise of any kind, but it's been noted that there's also a curious lack of any breathing sounds whatsoever.

Very difficult for most people to accomplish this, although voice training and and expert use of top-notch studio equipment and DSP's can reduce it almost to inaudibility.

However, this lack of breathing is also a distinct characteristic of AI generated voices.
It's amazing how much conspiratorial drivel and sheer wrongness you can squeeze into one pathetic spiel.

What father wouldn't want him to date his daughter?

Perception/impression - is there much difference in this context? You are illustrating what I said - your impression was incorrect.

Have we now reached the stage that actions that are amoral, unethical and plain wrong deemed to be fine and dandy because they don't quite reach the point of illegality?

Is this now the normal state of civilised behaviour? Nothing can be condemned or denounced if it aint illegal?

I get a kick out of the conspiracy theorists. Brand, a increasingly marginal figure well past the peak of his entertainment career, had to be silenced because he was repeating run-of-the-mill conspiracy theory and woo-woo crap that you run into in every corner of the internet.

A has-been like Brand isn't a threat big enough to the deep state to merit a coordinated character assassination scheme.

The morality police will always chip in. With Brand there appear to be 2 types of criticism/ accusation. There is the criminal stuff like rape, then there is the other stuff. I have heard the term grooming a lot yet I understand those concerned were all legally capable of making decisions.

If the grooming type criticism was all there was there would not be a news story. It is because we have the illegal accusations that news editors are running with things they wouldn't normally as it does add context. Someone who regularly drives at the speed limit is more likely to go over occasionally than someone who normally drives 10mph under.

Let's assassinate his character by bringing up all the stuff he actually did in the past! What a horrible thing to do!

He is being attacked on all sides, by the media, who have seen the police and NHS on the receiving end of a lot of criticism and bad press over abusive, coercive and criminal behaviour towards women, and know they are next, so they are wanting to appear to be already acting.

If his entertainment/wellness guru career is over perhaps he should consider a new career, I suggest the Met, he'll easily pass the background checks.
