Drag Shows!!

This is plainly untrue. Turning a critical eye towards it has happened and your ideas have been found with little to no support. What you're objecting to is that people don't agree with you. You're defining 'turning a critical eye' as 'coming to the same conclusions as me'. This is why you invoke your own chromosomes as support while ignoring that those with the same XX tend to disagree greatly.
I challenge your assertion. What has been stated is that in audiences that attend drag shows, there are more females than males. That does not in any way suggest that more females approve of drag than disapprove of drag. If only 1% of females attend drag shows, that still leaves 99% whose opinions you know nothing at all about.

And I will point out once more that even among the few females who post on this forum... none has actually expressed that they *like* drag. All except one has expressed an active dislike of drag and the opinion that it's a caricature.

Your arguments are only consistent with you wanting to gatekeep femininity far more than you claim, likely more than you think you do.

It isn't subtle even if you're using an erudite tone.
I just absolutely love it when people are insistent that they know my mind and my reasons so much better than I do. Your interpretation is simply wrong. Stop trying to mind read; try listening instead.

What does it matter who likes or doesn't like drag? I'm not a big fan either. But I have attended a few drag shows.

Some people's dislikes of others choices is absolutely no reason to reason to restrict those choices.

It should be covered in history class. You can't understand huge swathes of human history without knowing the basics of several religions.

I agree. But my own, personal researches into comparative religion are without question the reason I became agnostic (and later an atheist).

I suspect that such an outcome is not unusual, and that may have a lot to do with the strenuous objections to any such a curriculum by the right-wingnuts.

Education of nearly any sort has always been anathema to conservatives, unless it is education they can control.

And for like the fiftieth time, I don't want to restrict the choices of any adults! FFS, I don't even want to restrict the choices of adults to take their kids to them! The only thing I do support is prohibiting them from school events where the parent's aren't given the option to keep their kids out of it.

But there's also no reason I can't continue to make my case that they are offensive caricatures of females and femininity.

I don’t think it's offensive. But if youre determined to be offended, I can't do anything about that. I guess KiroTV shouldn't have aired a children's television show for two hours every morning for two decades with a man in drag?

Is that a thing, parents being unable to have their kids not attend? That's a new one.

[snip]

What other school events do you think deserve such prohibitions?

I challenge your assertion.

No, you actually don't. More below.

What has been stated is that in audiences that attend drag shows, there are more females than males. That does not in any way suggest that more females approve of drag than disapprove of drag. While that isn't what I'm going off of in the least, it is more than you've shown. It at least shows that those women approve. The important part is that any single one of their views is as much support as yours.

And I will point out once more that even among the few females who post on this forum... none has actually expressed that they *like* drag. All except one has expressed an active dislike of drag and the opinion that it's a caricature.

This forum is not at all representative of the general opinions of women. Hell, it's probably less representative of that than the women at drag shows. Do you realize how old we all are? I'm going to be forty this year and I'm likely younger than all but a handful of active posters.

And because you can't be bothered to listen to people, even other women, even other cisgender women, you don't have to like drag to disagree it is a mocking caricature of women. Because you haven't been listening, I'll again remind you that I don't even like drag.

I just absolutely love it when people are insistent that they know my mind and my reasons so much better than I do. Your interpretation is simply wrong. Stop trying to mind read; try listening instead.

I absolutely love when people say I'm wrong then say what I said they said. I'm not mind reading; I'm listening. The problem you have is that I am not just deferring to you 'as a woman'. I'm also listening to, and agreeing with, other women. That your argument is supported nearly entirely by your taking indignation at 'males' arguing with you is in and of itself a caricature of feminist thought. It is the caricature that the right wing uses to dismiss it in fact.

My interpretation is fine; it's your argument that is lacking.

But clearly, they prefers to go by "Willem". Who are you to disregard their preference? It's their name, it's their personal identity. It doesn't matter what their parent's named them, all that matters is what they tell you their name is - and that's Willem.
Why are you ignoring his pronouns? And why are you using the blatantly ungrammatical construction "they prefers"?

Millions of Americans homeless, unaffordable housing, crumbling infrastructure, attacks on our freedom and democracy, inflation, climate change, transportation needs, education, racism, labor issues and all they can talk about is that there are gay people out there and just maybe one of them will turn them gay.

This so called issue that sometimes men dress up on stage as a woman should be embarrassing to anyone who brings it up. But this is zenith of Republican imagination. They don't have any ideas so they double down on hate.
I get a strong vibe saying Republicans are always vile and the in crowd here hardly needs say it, nudge nudge.
Yet that despite the context of brand new gender ideology, and indoctrination of false beliefs in schools, drag shows can remain untainted.
Another view is they are now contextually repellant, and just might be right royally screwing children further.
However, get rid of gender in schools, and I wouldn't bat an eyelid at drag shows.
