Local News

From where I sit I have a nice view out of the French Doors into the garden, taking in the bird table. It's frequented mostly by pigeons, one at a time, but lately there have been 2 or 3 at a time using it as a squabbling ground. They get pretty nasty with each other.

Otherwise, not much happening around here.

In deeper news, my wife reported yesterday that she saw some squirrels being attached by some crows. Nature is getting nastier. :scared:

I can't remember if I posted about it at the time, but just after Christmas in 2021 there was an almighty explosion at a kebab shop near me, which rattled my windows and damaged a bunch of nearby shops.

Well, Kingsley's is finally open again.

Kingsley's is a local fried chicken franchise that has become a bit of an icon since it opened in the... actually, I don't know when the first place opened. They advertise with the slogan "Unbelievable chicken, awesome chips". Personally I like their Southern Fry Breast Fillet Burger (yes, burger) with coleslaw.

I saw a couple of wattle-birds harass a rat out of a tree here...

... when it hit the ground, it only made it a couple of metres, before my two chickens had killed it.

Red of beak and claw.

Big news today other than the governor predictably vetoing the budget was that a hungry bear broke into a Connecticut bakery and gorged on cupcakes. Neither too cold nor too hot they were apparently just right, and he ate 60 of them.

I saw that, a bit of a sweet tooth?

You have to also count the Jedi in that, because no census in the world recognises it as a valid religion. Everyone who marks the census "Jedi" will be marked down as "no religion".
No.
Not in Ireland anyway, and not in the UK either I believe, they are counted as a separate religion just like any other group with thirty or more adherents. State agencies have no role in determining what is a "real" religion.

"Jedi" as a religion is absolute nonsense. The Sith have a much more practical philosophy. Peace is a lie, there is only passion! Tell me that isn't both a kickass theological tenet and the tagline for a sultry primetime soap opera!
