Yes they have been. But this has been delayed to the point of absurdity.
You don't know that. You don't know what is going on behind the scenes or why they haven't brought charges yet. You're just guessing.

Indeed. The point isn't that Trump cannot be prosecuted, but rather that it's so far past the point where pretty much anyone else would have been that it's absurd. There's understandable reason for such, but those reasons are largely not well in line with anything normal.

Makes sense to me. Why would Garland fear prosecuting Trump? The ONLY risk for going after Trump without getting a conviction is for the reelection prospects of the Prosecutors
Just curious, does this Debbie Downer stuff have a purpose?
Is there something besides waiting for the fall (physical, not seasonal) we should be doing? I already vote every election to cast those GOP demons out. I've campaigned every election that mattered for decades, but I won't be able to do any door knocking in 2024. I'm not convinced joining the robocall army is effective and I don't have a lot of money but I'm always good for yard signs.![]()
I'm not holding my breath either. I'm also more than optimistic. I'm pretty sure Smith ain't no dummy and he isn't Mueller and Garland isn't Barr. For my part, there was no intent for it to be Debbie Downer stuff. It's true that reality is unpleasant at times, though, and I tend to think that facing the unpleasant bits head on is more useful than the alternatives, just like for the pleasant parts. I'm not going to hold my breath until Trump actually gets indicted, long after multiple overwhelming causes are already in the public consciousness, but I'm cautiously optimistic that it will happen, eventually....
It is stunning to me that he hasn't been already. Anyone else would be in jail by now.
I beg to differ. I'll bet $$$ that not only will he be indicted, but that goes to prison. My only caveat is that he's pardoned by Desanctimonious.New audio of The FPDJT in a meeting with a classified document apparently waving it around to people who were not authorized to see it. This will be the thing that gets him!
Wait. No, it won't.

And yet, mafia bosses have still been prosecuted.
Mafia bosses don't have 100,000,000 rabid, heavily armed ******* followers, many of whom are quite willing to kill for him.
That's an exaggeration. Nowhere near that many even voted for Trump.

Am I just guessing when there are audio and video recordings of him confessing to crimes? When there are tv interviews where he admits his criminal activities. Where there are security footages of his staff moving documents? When his own attorneys implicate him in obstruction?
Yes, you're just guessing as to why charges haven't been brought yet. Knowing some of the evidence against Trump does not mean you know WHY it's taking so long or what's going on behind the scenes. I understand you're impatient for Trump to be charged...so am I. But the investigators know more than we do. It's very possible that they're working with recalcitrant witnesses and securing deals before moving to indict. If they didn't have good reasons to NOT indict YET, they would have. I sincerely believe Trump will be indicted in both the documents case and the Georgia case.
But he's not anyone else. He's a former POTUS and the leading GOP contender in 2024. That's why the evidence has to be overwhelming and every single i dotted and t crossed.
