Criminal Charges Against Trump / Trump Indicted Part II

I am beginning to think so many republican’s are planning to run against Trump thinking he will be taken down by his legal troubles.

However, I will believe it when I see it.

It is stunning to me that he hasn't been already. Anyone else would be in jail by now.

Trump captured on tape acknowledging he kept a classified document on Iran...

From your link:

"Leaks from radical partisans behind this political persecution are designed to inflame tensions and continue the media’s harassment of President Trump and his supporters," Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung said on Wednesday."

So no claim that is not true, then. Saying it was a 'leak' certainly implies it is true.

But he's not anyone else. He's a former POTUS and the leading GOP contender in 2024. That's why the evidence has to be overwhelming and every single i dotted and t crossed.

Who is Steven Cheung?

I swear, Trump's lackeys are just the latest people to fall mentally ill with Q/Trumpitis.

I think they have had overwhelming evidence of multiple crimes for 18 months if not much longer.

Wikipedia says he's a political advisor who worked on Trump's 2016 and 2020 campaigns, and he used to be director of communications for public affairs for Ultimate Fighting Championship. Only two of those things involved someone getting severely beaten in some form.

Can you imagine what would happen if a loophole was left un-accounted-for? They need to take their time and be absolutely thorough.

I understand that. But I'm still convinced that they have had more than enough incriminating evidence against Trump to convict him of dozens of crimes including espionage, mishandling documents, seditious conspiracy, election interference, obstruction of justice and much more.

How long do they wait? After the next election? Equal justice has become a joke.

You do understand that they're terrified.

And that there is precedent where the legal experts have said that they have enough evidence to prosecute Trump, but were prevented from proceeding further. As you say, though, just about any smart person would be a bit terrified. Holding Trump accountable is probably worse than holding the mafia accountable, at present. Pretty much all the same risks to oneself and those one cares about, with additional nigh certainty of social death among right wingers and likely professional consequences in practice on top of that if right wingers are in a position of power there (likely, given the quite significant rightward lean across the Justice system).

And yet, mafia bosses have still been prosecuted.

Yes they have been. But this has been delayed to the point of absurdity.

Indeed. The point isn't that Trump cannot be prosecuted, but rather that it's so far past the point where pretty much anyone else would have been that it's absurd. There's understandable reason for such, but those reasons are largely not well in line with anything normal.
