I just heard this extraordinary and outrageous story from Petroc Trelawney on Radio 3 and felt obliged to share it.

The King’s Singers have revealed that their Feb. 11, 2023 concert was canceled due to homophobia.

The ensemble took to social media posting, “we are deeply saddened that our concert at Pensacola Christian College was canceled at two hours’ notice on Saturday, February 11th. The school gave its reasons for cancellation as “Concerns” expressed about the ‘lifestyle’ of members of our group.”

The ensemble added, “it has become clear to us, from a flood of correspondence from students and members of the public, that these concerns related to the sexuality of members of our group.”

The ensemble went on to state that they had performed at the University before and said that it entered the contract knowing that it was a Christian institution. They also added that it was the first time that the ensemble was canceled for this reason.

The King's Singers FFS. What the hell is wrong with these people.

If people start canceling performances because there are gay people involved, they’ll be in for a rude awakening.

If still in 2023 they have not had a rude awakening about their religion yet... it might be that their slumber is more of a deep coma.

Hang on a sec...

How does this "flood of correspondence" determine if any members of a visiting choir are gay? Is it an asterisked notice on the website? Tattooed on their foreheads?

Or do they just assume it is the case because "choir boys"?

Reminds me of Mel Brooks' theatre owner in To Be Or Not To Be, lamenting the effect the Nazi policy of rounding up Jews, gypsies and homosexuals is having on his business: "Don't they realise that without Jews, gypsies and homosexuals there is no theatre!".

I think they meant that people had contacted them saying that the real reason for the cancellation was that the school had become aware that some members of the ensemble are gay.

What is that deafening silence I am not hearing???

Oh, of course, its conservatives screeching "cAnCeL CuLtUrE" at the top of their voices!

:thumbsup:Indeed... I think it might be that the religion parasite defecates hypocrisy as a result of its munching on the brains of its victims.

Does the Pensacola Christian College think that the danger is that listening to the King's Singers will turn people gay?

How silly can you get?

I suspect that yes, they do in fact think that. Any contact with gay persons will do that. Gays are to be avoided at all costs.

More to the point, they can't show any tolerance of the gay "lifestyle" because that might encourage people to think that it's OK to be themselves. You have to punish people to show how Christ-like you are.
