Fox News knew they were lying about election

From the Times news story linked in the opening post.

When Hannity was deposed by attorneys for Dominion Voting systems, when asked under oath if he believed what Powell was saying, Hannity replied:

Proving, Dominion says, Hannity and other "Fox employees knew that what they were broadcasting was false."

Yep. Probably will be $10 billion fine when Fox is found liable.

From an article published ten days ago by the UK's Guardian:
[Following the 2020 US election] Fox News put a parade of Trump lawyers, advisers and apologists front and centre over the following weeks to promote a myriad of conspiracy theories about how the election was stolen from Trump, including by rigging the voting machines...Dominion claims that without Fox, “these fictions” about electoral fraud would never have gained the same traction among large number of Americans. “Fox took a small flame and turned it into a forest fire,” the company claims in its lawsuit. Guardian news link

Those edited videos are a large reason we hear so many GOP talking about how senile Biden is.

That and some of his actual gaffes. It's all FOX. I mention them a lot because I believe they are the biggest problem with Republicans believing all the lies. All this ******** goes through FOX and into people's ears.

They never see Trump stumble, or any of the ridiculous crap he says. Any of it. Zippo. That's why my Dad didn't believe me at first about the trading cards. "No way Trump did that" even when it's on every other news outlet on the planet, probably. Just change the channel and wake the **** up.

He lives in a political fantasy land created mostly by Fox. They all do. It's freaky.

We demand reality here, most people don't even know they need to.

Ironically...biased, and run by leftists.

Is your argument that something can't be biased because something else that is biased called it so?
Or is this another "everyone commits crimes, so why get more upset about the murderer than the jaywalker?" thing?

When facts contradict preconceived fantasies, it is easy to dismiss it as bias. The adage that "facts have a liberal bias" becomes true because right wingers lean more and more towards lies and fantasy to feed their bigotry, egos and sense of superiority.

Will FOXNews claim that the claims were only made for entertainment purposes and that no reasonable person could possibly have take them seriously?

Ironically...biased, and run by leftists.

If reality were exactly half way between the right and the left, then yes all normal media outlets would have a left-wing bias. But reality is not at the halfway mark.

The left provides evidence that 2020 did not have any major irregularities at all.
The right claims without evidence that there is a large multi-state conspiracy involving hundreds of people and (according to Trump) more than 7 million votes.

The truth is not there was a medium sized conspiracy involving dozens of people and hundreds of thousands fraudulent votes in maybe 2 or 3 states.

So that’s why the right get so butt hurt when rational outlets say there was no conspiracy. “Waaa, waaa, the major news sources are agreeing with every part of the left’s position and not are agreeing with any part of ours. Fake news! Left bias!”

Media analysts report the downside of Fox News includes presenting as solid news reports that are essentially conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, reports that are more propaganda than fact. Fox is also faulted for using poor sources. Many Fox News reports, when objectively fact checked, are obviously inaccurate. Fox News has really done some ugly stuff. The wingers response is always the same: How about CNN?

But how about CNN? It's undeniable they have a much better record for accurate reporting and correcting/updating stories when they get something wrong. CNN is owned by Warner Brothers. The CEO is Chris Licht, a former vice president of programming at CBS News. These are not leftists.

That won't hold water when you can show that this "entertainment" has cost Dominion real life dollars.

The have as Trump’s spokesperson said "alternative facts."

Is that really the "problem"?

It would probably be better said as "a" problem. Fox's business model works to attract and promote unreasonability in its viewers for influence and profit, either way. When they try to head off from their stream of bias confirmation, they seem to normally get cowed by the drop in viewers. The appeal that they've established is much more based on emotion than truth, and the truth greatly suffers from that, with far reaching negative effects on the US.
