Merged Musk buys Twitter!/ Elon Musk puts Twitter deal on hold....

As usual, Musk is full of ****. This incident with a car containing his son supposedly happened in Los Angeles. The difficulty using flight information to identify and follow a car from any airport in or around LA can't be exaggerated. You'd pretty much have to be on the tarmac, watch the passengers deplane and enter the car, then follow them immediately. Airport security would make that incredibly difficult and picking the correct car outside the airport would be just as tough given LA traffic.

Frankly, I doubt every part of the narrative but the most absurd part is blaming it on flight tracking.

The flight tracker didn't even report the movement of the flight to LA until after the attack was supposed to have happened, on any platform.

A lot going on

1. Elon Musk joined the aforementioned Twitter Space briefly. He repeated the line that those who post tracking information will get banned (even though that's hardly what happened here). When pressed on this by others in the chat, he repeated the line, then bounced out without saying he was leaving or anything. He was very awkward, and came off looking nerdier than a kid who somehow managed to get shoved into a locker while simultaneously receiving a swirley.

2. Elon posted a public poll asking what should happen to those who "doxxed [his] location in real-time" (again, for emphasis, this did not happen). The results did not go the way he intended. He has since initiated a do-over, this one with a longer deadline. Stay tuned for the results.

Sorry if it seems like I'm spamming with these updates, but it's quite surreal seeing one of the wealthiest men on the planet go full Howard Hughes in real time.

Links to any Mastodon site are now blocked on Twitter. If you attempt to post the URL to any Mastodon page, the tweet simply will not go through.

Found that out when I went to post my Mastodon link to Twitter this afternoon. Although the link could not be posted, I edited the text to insert a couple of spaces so all the info was there.

Oh, so that means he'll definitely sue. Being provably wrong is his cue to double down.

Porn is low on the conservative list unless it is gay porn. That's why they are going after drag story hour at libraries. Big target there!

Objection - The Drag Story times that have become a cultural flashpoint have NOTHING to do with porn. They're going after them because, in short, they feel that uniting via fear and hatred of the other will grant political advantage. There's obviously a lot more to it than just that, of course, but that's why it's actually a cultural flashpoint.

My guess is Musk paid (or more likely promised to pay, Trump style) somebody to jump up and down so as to be able to play the victim.

Wait, so Musk recently got mad because someone was sharing his location, then he wants to make sharing your location mandatory?
If course. It's find for him to know where you are but not for anyone to know about Muskie's movements.

The official Twitter account of Mastodon has now been banned from Twitter.
How typical.

Yeah dare to criticise His Muskiness and you're gone. Including Donnie....:(

I suspect I'm missing something.

The ElonJet account is simply collating publicly-available information isn't it? The guy isn't out there scanning the skies, rigging up his own radar equipment or hacking the FAA databases?

He's been banned for basically reposting public information?

Yes, but it's public information relating to Elon Musk.

I'm pretty sure that if he had a GatesJet or PelosiJet Twitter account it would be fine.

If anyone is trying to divine a set of internally consistent rules about this, they're kidding themselves. Elon Musk now has his thumb firmly on the "Free Speech" scales and only speech acceptable to Elon Musk will be considered "Free".

Musk just sold another 3.38 billion of Tesla stock taking his revenue this year to 40 billion, Tesla now 500 billion market cap.
He is doing the right thing.

At a delay, no less. Makes his conjured up excuse even more insane.

Hell, he's not even Dr Evil

Reminds me of the "old" days with Trump. Writers talking about how Trump would not have been a believable villain to put into a comic book because, seriously, WTF? Editors would have rejected a character like him for being too unrealistic. Too stupid, over the top obvious evil and untrustworthy, yet still somehow holds so much power and trust from so many people.

Normally, when a Twitter Space is complete/closed, a recording of the entire event is saved to the host's timeline. After Katie Notopoulos' stream was closed last night, there was no recording left behind.

One of the accounts that got banned was merely pointing out that the absence of a criminal report conflicted with his story that someone placed his child's life in danger. Combine it with Elon trying to scrub the very Space he appeared on, and it's pretty clear that Musk is trying to Streissand his way out of this. I wish him all the success that she had.

I was expecting a slow decline into the toilet, not a belly flop into a vat of raw sewage. He's already started banning people who ask why he's banning people. I hadn't even made popcorn yet.

Makes me think whoever's actually been running the show at Tesla and SpaceX is just grateful the boss has a new toy to screw with instead of them.

Musk still has an army of sycophants who won't care about any of this.

Look, isn't it funny how Glenn Greenwald pretty much doesn't even try to look like he's left-wing any more.

Apparently he can't figure out Elon Musk's principles (and only an idiot thought he had any), but now he is doing his obvious "Lol at the libtards!" routine.

Musk's financial troubles are over! He's going to make it all back, the billions and billions, by investing in Trump's new NFTs!
