My experience has been that payroll is distributed every two weeks. Of course I am sure there are some exceptions.

Yeah, I've had it a few ways. I used to get paid every Friday, then it was on the 10th and the 25th, and now it's every other Friday. I don't think there's any "standard". I would imagine that they've gone through a payroll or two since Elon took over.

The biggest question for me is who is handling all of the firings, hirings, rehirings, etc. if they've gutted their department. I've worked in Active Directory for a decade or so, and I can't imagine how many people have to go through and make the changes. Just the employee rollovers would take a decent amount of people to manage on the backend and that doesn't even touch on who is handling the day to day maintenance for the servers, PCs, etc.

For me it was this bit

"He said that would be best achieved by a direct meeting between Ms McSweeney and a senior member of HR in the organisation and that was something it wanted to do."

I wonder if he said at the end under his breath - "When we can find a bloody senior member of HR"
Well she is a Global VP (for Public Policy), I would expect the HR drone to be of similar seniority.

Elon Musk meets Tim Cook, says Apple never considered removing Twitter app
“Good conversation. Among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store,” Musk tweeted. “Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so.

I'd say this indicates that Apple takes Twitter and Musk seriously. But in case I'm wrong, I'm going to see if I can get Tim Cook to meet with me and give me a tour of the facility.

The lack of a statement from Tim Cook or Apple makes this a bit suspect. Could be true. But if Musk told me the sky was blue I would want to check for myself.

Yes, Apple taking Twitter seriously is the most obvious explanation for why one billionaire CEO would be congenial to another. I can’t think of another reason why a billionaire CEO would be friendly and accommodating towards other billionaire CEOs.

What about Musk's attack on Alex Jones?
You're loving that, too?

Bah. Not worth it. Warp12 is cheered up by fascists and white supremacists being overtly evil under the pretext that "Now they're coming for leftists, so leftists care, but they didn't care when it wasn't them!" Except for the part where Warp12's perception sure seems based on false premises through and through.

I guess Musk is playing chicken with Apple. If they kick Twitter off their store they suddenly have millions of people they need to explain that to. That might be bad for Apple especially given that few people know about how much Apple charges app developers.

So maybe Musk is doing this to force a negotiation where they pay Apple less and/or Apple agrees to do some advertising.

That said it probably would have been a better move not to make things toxic to start with. But hey, I don’t know 13D chess.

I’m going to guess that there actually was some negotiation that went on behind closed doors.

I could be wrong, but maybe it will come out in Walter Isaacson’s book in a few years, Elon Musk’s Dead Parrot.

I thought the point of Free Speech was that it should apply to everyone equally.

As I say, I am rather ambivalent about it. I can see arguments from both sides on Jones. He is clearly not in his right mind, to say the least. I don't really consider Jones as being quieted for his social or political views.

Of course this has nothing to do with me stating that I find these latest liberal tears delicious.
