Cont: Brexit: Now What? Turning it up to 11

Evidence? The polls I've seen show most countries citizens realizing more what a good thing the EU is they see the train wreck the UK is becoming.

I have not heard much about countries in the EU wanting to leave.
Bitch about some EU policies, sure, but that is along way from wanting to pull out.
On the other hand I think there is a waiting list of countries wanting to get in.

Italy, for example. The rising right wing extremists in France.
You claimed that "other countries are muttering about leaving [the EU]" . Will you be supporting this assertion? Preferably with reliable polling data that shows an increase in support for leaving the EU, rather than the almost universal decrease in such sentiments.

Project fear!

“…. The value of the Kent brewery’s annual beer exports have fallen from £600,000 to £2,000…..”

Next you’ll be claiming the export of dead parrots has been hit by Brexit!

Perhaps they could diversify into making blue cheese.

The story of that Kent brewery is so painful it's hard to joke about. £600k in exports reduced to only 1 remaining customer who drives from Berlin himself to collect the goods. And his one day trip now takes him 4 days.

My contempt for the people who deliberately broke this with no plan and no clue how to fix it knows no bounds.

But you see this is all the EU’s fault. We didn’t want any of this palaver and bureaucracy, we wanted it to be like it was before we left the EU! It’s the EU that is insisting on all of this stuff!

That above is not sarcasm but a paraphrase of an argument I’ve heard many times from Brexiters.

They need us more than we need them, we hold all the cards, etc etc. Freed from EU bureaucracy we'll be surging ahead, exporting our innovative jams and cheeses...

All I see is the bewildering paperwork that makes me want to stab myself in the head with screwdrivers every time I need to send items to EU countries for repair.

But you can now use imperial screwdrivers to stab yourself. FREEDOM!

Project fear.... oh sorry I mean reality.

No US trade deal on the horizon, admits Truss as she flies in for Biden meeting
PM admits talks are not even taking place and plays down hopes from Brexiters that they could start ‘in the short to medium term’

Britain may not strike a free trade deal with the US for years, Liz Truss has admitted ahead of her first bilateral meeting with Joe Biden.

The new prime minister conceded that talks were unlikely to start in the “medium term” as she travelled to New York on her first foreign trip since entering Downing Street.

In a move likely to disappoint Brexiters, she downplayed expectations that any trade agreement was imminent amid concerns that overpromising but then failing to get talks off the ground would damage her nascent administration.

On the plane to the US, Truss admitted to reporters: “There aren’t currently any negotiations taking place with the US and I don’t have any expectation that those are going to start in the short to medium term.”

^ I bet they'll spin this as a good thing. After all, it means no chlorinated chicken heading our way (unless the Cons start allowing it, which will also be 'a good thing')

Remarkable that the disappearance of any US trade deal over the horizon is both relief *and* disaster. Relief because Brexity clowns would have signed us up to any old toot while claiming a victory. Disaster because the hole they've blown in our international trade remains huge.
